The story begins with a young woman named Nannan returning to her rural hometown to attend her grandmother’s one-hundredth birthday funeral, an event paradoxically known as a “happy funeral.” The tone, at first, seems light—this is a cultural celebration of longevity, of a life that has reached completion. Yet beneath the surface of the ceremony lies a sense of unease. Nannan catches a fleeting glimpse of her grandmother’s figure, impossibly alive, and soon finds herself pulled into a surreal world where the boundaries between memory and reality dissolve. As the story unfolds, Nannan must navigate a labyrinthine house filled with puzzles, echoes of voices, and distorted fragments of the past.
