Let Bions Be Bygones, developed by Bohemian Pulp and published by MicroProse Software, is a story-driven point-and-click adventure that leans heavily into its noir inspirations while wrapping them in a futuristic, dystopian setting. It presents itself less as a puzzle-centric adventure and more as an interactive narrative, where player choices and dialogue shape the direction of the story. The game’s identity is firmly rooted in its writing and atmosphere, offering a detective tale that prioritizes mood and character over mechanical complexity. The narrative follows a down-on-his-luck investigator navigating a sprawling, morally ambiguous world in search of answers to a missing person case. What begins as a relatively straightforward investigation gradually expands into a more layered and intricate story involving corporate interests, hidden agendas, and the blurred lines between justice and survival. The writing embraces classic noir elements—cynicism, dry humor, and moral uncertainty—while integrating them into a cyberpunk framework. This combination gives the story a familiar yet distinct tone, allowing it to explore themes of identity, power, and consequence through its charac…3 found this helpful
It's full of meaningful choices, with an interesting noir story presented with very cool visuals that mix pixel art and 3D effects. The endings feel abrupt, though, and some bugs can mix various storylines and block achievements, so it's better to get it at a deep discount.1 found this helpful
This had so much potential, but the game is not polished by any means. It's like it skipped QA entirely. I can only recommend this game if you have the patience and are willing to overlook bad UI/UX.
man the dialogues are so bad, I could not stand it...
I was a good experience for me. I did only one runthrough, but from looking at the achievments it looks like you can have very different experiences given the choices. I will say I liked the art design very much and the voice acting is top notch, plus the story, the way I've experinced, was solid, but you only get to understand what this game is all about near the end. I think many people will not give it a fair chance. The pacing was very bad for me. There are very good moments, while having so boring sequences that seem to go forever. In some sections the game seems so grounded, whilw in the next dialogue it feels you are not in the same universe. Very weird! I will recommend this game only for fans of point and click, detective/adventure games. Games based strictly on dialogue, cause many players would find this type of game boring. 6.75/10
