[b]Blade Runner influence[/b] If you look at the pictures and the trailer, you can clearly see what the main inspiration was for this game. To tell you the truth, it was enough for me to make a purchase. I also liked the screenshots people on my friends list were taking. What could go wrong, right? [b]Lore[/b] Now this is something that surpassed my expectations. It isn't just a future with advanced tech that we see in this game. It is a world where people can get new bodies (or shells) and by doing so, they can essentially live forever. A new body comes with side effects, though. Plus, it isn't one without any illnesses if you don't have enough credits to purchase the most expensive one. During our investigation you should pay attention to the dialogue especially the ones concerning this tech and certain, important, past events. [b]Detective story[/b] As James Karra we are entrusted to carry out an investigation and we get a liaison for that via remote communication. What turns out to be a homicide is something the board wants to consider only as a suicide. James and Sara decide to continue the investigation on their own. And why is it interesting? Hard Reset, Observer, Ruiner, Metal Eden, Cyberpunk 2077, Ghostrunner and now this one. There must be an explanation for why Polish devs like to make cyberpunk games and why they do it so well. My guess it's the weather. (you may also indeed consider it a BioShock sequel, but in the form of a light adventure game).

You spend more time watching the game than actually playing it. The story is decent, but that's about it. There isn't much else to keep you engaged, and I don't think it's worth more than $1-2. There are barely any NPCs, which makes the world feel empty, almost as if the developers wanted to avoid making character animations. The dialogue choices also don't feel meaningful. Some actions unlock new dialogue options, but they rarely change the outcome in any noticeable way. The detective gameplay isn't particularly interesting either. Most of the time, you're just pointing your tools at objects and following the clues. It feels very basic and doesn't offer much depth.

It's a Ok game in a Great world.

Nobody Wants to Die is peak cinema. It's basically an atmospheric, story-driven walking simulator and I honestly loved it. While I was playing I kept getting vibes from the BioShock games (especially the first two and Burial at Sea), Life is Strange and L.A. Noire. I don't know exactly why, but it has that same atmosphere and worldbuilding that just pulls you in. The only con I can think of is Sarah's facial animations when she talks. They feel really strange and clunky at times. Besides that though, I really enjoyed the storytelling, the worldbuilding and the overall visual design. The soundtrack fits the setting perfectly, and the gameplay is satisfying for the most part. I had never even heard of this game before, so I went in with zero expectations. I picked it up for €3.74 and honestly that's a steal. I don't know what the developers are planning to do next, but I really hope they don't give up on this IP because it has a unique charm. I'd love to see them turn it into something bigger. Maybe a story-driven first-person shooter like BioShock, with light RPG elements. Or maybe something closer to Metro, with atmospheric exploration and semi-open areas like Exodus. They could…
