The year 2087 is upon us — a future where genetic engineering is the norm, the addictive Trance has replaced almost any need for human interaction, and an omnipresent AI named Central powers the city. Its all-seeing CEL police force keeps tabs on everyone, including three people who are about to meet their maker.
As these three struggle to save themselves, they will soon discover a string of conspiracies that threatens not only their lives, but everything they think they know.

- Charlie Regis, an agent of the city’s all-seeing secret police, finds himself blackmailed with the lives of his unborn children. Pushed to the limits by his deceit and his past, how far is he willing to go to save his legacy?
- Latha Sesame, a jobless agoraphobe addicted to the Trance, has become targeted for assassination. Without knowing who to trust, she must face the dangers of “meatspace” and survive a fate that has invisibly ruled her entire life.
- Max Lao, a tech-savvy case officer who joined CEL to forget her criminal past. Now she finds herself torn between two loyalties. When she’s asked to apprehend her best friend and partner, she must choose to follow her friend or the law.
As these three struggle to save themselves, they will soon discover a string of conspiracies that threatens not only their lives, but everything they think they know.

Technobabylon ended up being one of those games that I didn’t expect to last this long, yet at no point did it feel like the game or plot was dragging, even across 12+ hours. I don’t want to spoil the story itself, but the writing is genuinely excellent. The voice acting is great across the board, but the soundtrack is what really tied everything together for me. So many scenes land perfectly because the music fits the mood so well. It could just be me since I’m a sucker for synth/EDM music and simple drone-like tracks :) The characters feel like actual people with histories and motivations instead of existing just to hand you an item or block a hallway until a puzzle gets solved. Everyone feels like they belong in the world. Puzzle-wise, the game does a really good job guiding you without shoving obvious hints in your face. Almost every solution felt logical and fair. It was only near the very end where I got completely “wrenched” and stuck on a puzzle that required combining multiple characters, quick timing, and using items in a way the game had never really asked of you before. Technobabylon feels like a love letter to both retro point and click fans and Cyberpunk fans with its incredible story and challenging yet fun gameplay. [b] Pros [/b] - Incredible story - alot of moments shocked me, I did NOT expect this much drama from this game - Outstanding voice actors - incredible variety of art styles - its really nice to see 2D with 3D elements, aswell as a different style for when in the trance - Diverse set of characters - Characters with their own interesting quirks and tools - Incredible and open worldbuilding - alot of love was made designing the city and it's backstory, it's incredible [b] Cons (SPOILERS) [/b] - The "big reveal" near the end of two of the characters being related really wasn't that big of a shock - No tutorial - this is probably more of a "me" issue having only played point and clicks like Sam & Max but it wasn't till the flower area that I learnt how to look at items as it was the only way to progress. - No "No point of return" warning for the ship segment with Max - Thought I did everything I needed to do before progressing but forgot to use the Wetwall on a terminal and couldn't go back to get it, I also couldn't progress…1 found this helpful

A great sci-fi vision implemented as an adventure game. I played in mid-2026, and the plot written before the modern AI era was very compelling. The very first puzzle in the game is the hardest (because you haven't really learned the rules of the world yet), so don't give up in the first room.1 found this helpful
