I'm absolutely torn about this. I'm giving it a thumbs down now but there are a lot of pros as well... I'll try to sum it up: Pros: - Really nice artwork and attractive characters. - I like Frenz a lot! - I like the romantic scenes, can imagine them well. - The writing was okay, didn't feel off or had many mistakes. - I liked the humour. Cons: - In each route (watch out, this is kind of a spoiler, but I won't mark it that way because I hope it's vague enough and my main reason to be angry with this VN) you always have 2 alternatives to chose from - one I'd say is more in favor of the guy and one against him, and you have to chose the "against" alternative each time (!) to get a good ending, in all of the 3 routes!! And vice versa for the bad ending. I can understand that with Taf maybe, even though it's very cliché, but why with Frenz and Burain? Doesn't make sense at all to me. It's like this game is telling us: deny him, you'll get him, be nice, he'll turn away - what kind of concept is that?? Doesn't that make the woman's choice invalid? She will always get what she DIDN'T want initially? - The shallowness: those 3 men are so overbooked, stereotypical and unoriginal. No surp…17 found this helpful
Art is beautiful, UI and design is great, but the story is boring and bland. Dialogues are uninteresting, and nothing ever really happens. The romantic scenes aren't even interesting enough to make up for it. Only remotely interesting character was Burain, and even his story wasn't super interesting. Don't recommend.5 found this helpful
Let's not stay friends is a fantasy romance visual novel that blends heartfelt relationships with light magical adventure, creating a story that is both charming and emotionally engaging. Developed by Violet Feature and published by Vorobushek, the game follows Inske, a student at a magical academy whose ordinary school life takes an unexpected turn as hidden romantic feelings begin to surface among her closest companions. What starts as preparation for an important practical examination soon becomes a journey filled with personal discovery, meaningful choices, and the possibility of finding love. Rather than emphasizing action or complex mechanics, the game focuses on character-driven storytelling, inviting players to shape the narrative through their decisions. The story's greatest strength lies in its relationships. Inske is an approachable protagonist whose interactions with classmates feel natural and sincere. Unaware that several people harbor romantic feelings for her, she finds herself caught in situations where friendship and affection become increasingly difficult to separate. Each romance option has a unique personality and emotional arc, making every route feel worthwh…
nifty game
Let's Not Stay Friends is another short otome from the devs of Espresso for the Demon. This game lasts a few hours and has 3 love interests. Inske is a bumbling artificer at her magical high school. Artificers are paired with Battle Mages who protect them with offensive magic. Inske needs to pair up with one of the three LIs to find the artefact to finish her final exam and graduate to become a fully-fledge mage. You can choose one of the three tropey characters - the childhood friend, playboy, and quiet nerd - to finish the storyline. Each character has four endings and a multitude of CGs. By far my favourite was Frenz. He just had such a great story and I felt like it was Childhood Friends done right. Though I will admit that I found it really silly his name was Frenz, as well as the "smart" character being called Burain (ugh). I thought his CGs were really cute and I loved their story together. It definitely got a bit steamy in the game - there are some topless CGs (male character no shirt), but nothing super explicit, and it does do a bit of a fade to black. Unfortunately Burain doesn't have a steamy scene but it does fit with his character more, I suppose. The playboy storyl…
I wish I could leave a neutral review, but this is steam, so we can't do that. It's nothing to really write home about; I do think that it's a little overpriced for what you get. But in the end, it was good with its comedy, and the art was pretty nice too. So I think, that if you want to have some innocent fun, this is an okay enough place to look for it. The extras that you unlock after finishing the entire game were also really nice. Music was alright too. All in all, just an okay game really. THE BIGGEST ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT IT'S SO CONTRADICTORY TO PREDICT WHAT ENDING YOUR CHOICES WILL LEAD TO. If there was some sort of indicative system to get through this without the need for a walkthrough, it would've been infinitely more bearable of a time, and not just okay. Have Fun!
