LIBRITOPIA: Librarian Simulator

After falling in love with Tiny Bookshop, I decided to google if there were any other bookshop adjacent games. I found this, and honestly I love it. It seems to have everything you'd see in a real life library, including very dumb patrons. For instance, there is a registration station, in which your patrons can fill out info to get their library cards, and it’s mostly automatic although occasionally filling out name, today's date and getting their picture taken is just beyond their capabilities, so you have to do it for them. Also, there are "help" stations, in which you can help your patrons find a book they want but can’t find in the library (they’ll either ask for a specific author, a specific title, or a specific genre, and as you level up they’ll ask for between one and three books). Sometimes it's on the shelf and you grumble and hand it to them. Sometimes, you just don’t have the author or title they’re looking for, and in the first few levels, you can just tell them that. They’ll get mad and stomp off (occasionally throwing a book at you that knocks you over - the first time that happened I burst out laughing because it’s accompanied by a hilariously titled achievement). …

At it's current early access (timestamp 2nd september 2026) I can not recommend anyone to play this game unless they literally just want to waste an hour or two. Concept behind the game is great, but the execution is flawed at best.

I wanted to like this game, but it is so janky. Maybe a better tutorial would help, but some core elements are just...off. Issues: - the tutorial popups don't reflect what you've done. The one that says to use the apps in the tablet (..which all seem useless, so I'm not sure why it wanted you to) stayed after I've clicked through at least 3x. As well as the one that says "Use ESC to find out how." - ...or you could just put all the info in the one popup? Both went away, but I think only because I finished the day and things reset. - No info on the returns process, so I had a bunch of unhappy customers because I didn't notice the pile of books needing re-shelving and told them I didn't have the book. Also, no info on when/how you use Late Return or Damaged Book, and what the consequences of doing so are. - For a game whose USP seems to be "build/organise the library however you like!" there's really no info with which to do this, and unlocking 1 shelf per day (...I think, I lasted 3 days so who knows if this picks up) really doesn't give you room for organising. Also there's zero info about the book when you look at it, besides colour cover, title, and author. Unless you're dreamin…
