Boredom: Battlefatigue Seriously one of the most boring and badly designed games ever created. Rarely do I not finish a game, doesn't matter how bad, but after almost 20 hours I gave up, as currently there is not one single aspect of the game that is positive. If you get it for free it might be worth it, otherwise stay away.
good review to support devs, but seems pretty mid so far. 1 hr in. uninstailling. life's too short to spend it on mediocre or boring experiences.
do not buy this game crashes when starting a new game and game.log says its straight up missing several file assets (this crash on new game bug has been present since launch. i WAS able to somehow get a single save working but no idea how and it was back in 2014 and having deleted it like an idiot ill probably never get another one working) (edit: most of the logged hours out of the current 43 are just from trying to get the game to work as in more than half)
'Lichdom: Battlemage' is an ambitious departure from traditional fantasy RPGs, replacing swords and shields with a deep, highly customizable spell-crafting system. The game’s primary strength lies in its "100% mage" philosophy, allowing players to weave together various elemental properties to create thousands of unique spell combinations. This mechanical depth offers a rewarding sense of agency, as players can fine-tune their arsenal to suit specific tactical needs. When the combat clicks, the experience of wielding immense, screen-filling magical power without the restriction of mana bars is genuinely exhilarating and visually spectacular. However, the game’s focus on spell-crafting comes at the cost of environmental and narrative variety. The level design is largely linear, often funneling players through repetitive arenas that can make the long campaign feel monotonous over time. Additionally, while the core combat is innovative, it can become a "visual noise" struggle where the sheer intensity of the spell effects obscures enemy telegraphs, leading to moments of frustration. Ultimately, 'Lichdom: Battlemage' is a bold experiment that succeeds as a technical wizardry simulat…
