About Light of Altair
Light of Altair is a sci-fi colony building game with a deep plot. Grow colonies from landing pod to metropolis, while sending off new spaceships to expand your territory to other worlds. You are not alone in space, 8 factions from different parts of the world are all following their own agendas in the solar system; diplomacy and orbital-combat are essential to learn.
Light of Altair is based on a custom built 3D engine that enables easy zooming from galaxies all the way down to individual moons and asteroids covered in the colonies with their glass domes, mines and launch pads. Advanced shader technology is used to add rich details and lighting to surfaces.

Amazing game would love a sequal even if it is 11 years later2 found this helpful
I actually have to wait in the game menu for 10 minutes just so that I can review the game. My review is not based upon the gameplay and graphics and everything, rather it's simply not playable at all. The game freeze your entire PC once you click the in-menu exit button. Can't compromise my operating system for playing this game. For the game, I checked the gameplay on youtube. It looks good.1 found this helpful
fun space game. Keeps it simple and enjoyable.1 found this helpful
Light of Altair is an overlooked, hybrid 4X, real-time space strategy game with simplified but interesting colony building and research systems. Maybe a little bit linear and campaign driven, and combat can get tricky. Developing colonies is the most fun part of the game. The engine is obviously dated but it still looks good. Sound is also good.

Tags: Clicker - Swarmer Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Hotspot swarmer in which you customize grid by grid the 3D bases as planets. Primitive engine. Akward hybrid of genres that do it better. The overall game is played on a galactic map that looks a lot like a poorer version of Mayhem intergalactic. Simple circles connected by dots. Your goal is to expand from a homebase. Which is represented by a 3D sphere not unluke planetary annihilations. The interactivity to populate the grids on such sphere is a bit dubious. The whole thing comes across as clunky, and at the same time underexecuted. As if stuck in some outdated version of Unity Engine. Conclusion: This expderience is interesting in concept, but the execution does not do it justice. Best avoided so as to not taint your perception of what someone more talented could do with the same idea. https://store.steampowered.com/app/386070/Planetary_Annihilation_TITANS/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/218510/Planets_Under_Attack/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/18600/Mayhem_Intergalactic/
