LIT: Bend the Light

The current puzzle set leans a bit too much on the easy side. There’s a lot of room here for more advanced challenges, especially for players who enjoy deeper logical or spatial reasoning. I would also love to see the optical system expanded further. Features like multi-wavelength (multi-color) refraction, dispersion effects, or even coherence-based interactions could push the gameplay into much more interesting territory. Right now, it feels like the foundation is strong, but the game hasn’t fully explored the complexity that light-based puzzles can offer.

Fun little puzzler where we have to figure out different ways to guide a laser to a target using various mirrors and lenses. But there are actually more possible solutions than the count required to 100% the game. The puzzles aren’t particularly difficult, but they are fun to tinker with, though the difficulty is inconsistent between levels. The ones that required the most tinkering for me were those where we had to activate two targets with a single laser. All in all, I recommend the game if you enjoy casual, pure puzzle games.

Main lesson for me from this game, is that my brain stubbornly refuses to understand prisms. That's not a criticism of the game, but it does mean that half way through it I'm just confusedly fiddling with things until they happen to do something useful. Which I'm not enjoying. Game itself is nicely presented, though the controls can be a bit fiddly. As others have said, there's pressure to solve the same level repeatedly in different ways, which I'm not a fan of. In some cases that can be interesting, but mostly the other solutions don't feel that different. Plenty of people seem to have enjoyed it, it's just not for me.

I picked this up on sale because I liked the concept, and overall it turned out to be a solid little puzzle game. Getting through all the levels was fairly easy. Finding every solution and completing all objectives was a much nicer challenge. The only downside is that it is over surprisingly quickly. The level select shows three pages of 4x3 slots, but there are only 31 actual levels and just five empty slots. After all the puzzles, I was convinced they were hiding another secret. The only secret was my disappointment. There are already a few levels with multiple objectives, so I would have happily taken more of those as well. It is also a great game to play while watching something on a second monitor that does not require your full attention. Occasionally it gets a bit fiddly trying to line up the beam exactly where you want it, though. Triangle prisms were the bane of my existence. I am fairly certain I solved those through determination, trial and error, and accidental competence. Overall, it is a nice little puzzle game and well worth picking up on sale.

Fun puzzle game that offers a good, but not overwhelming challenge. The music aids in relaxation. Perfect to play before winding down for the day. Highly recommend adding to your collection.

A decent little geometric puzzle game. It'll provide the mild intellectual challenge you seek for a few hours.
