Little Droid 2: Escape

Pixel 2d retro platformer. With clever puzzles and beautiful pixel art design.

I decided to reminisce about old games and found this game. Overall, it's awesome. It reminds me of old console games but with new graphics. I liked that the weapons in the game are sooooooooo varied xD

Bought both of these in a bundle and loved the first one but man the visual clarity in this one is absolutely horrendous. I can barely see these twigs that damage you in the forest level and I definitely cannot see which ledges you can grip onto and which ones you cant. Pretty awful experience. Getting passed that all of these bosses have SO.MUCH.HEALTH. The 2nd to last boss and last boss need at least a 25% health nerf. The last boss is also one of the most frustrating bosses ive ever fought. Outside of the crap ton of HP he does you also have extremely limited amount of opportunities to attack. Im talking in a 5 minute encounter im doing maybe 20% of the health bar. The mace throwing attack he does also feels cheap since you have limited space to protect yourself. You also have to stay on the ground since the boss will teleport and spawn on you and damage you. The laser are also going on for the first few teleports which will randomly gib you as well. This needs a massive tuning pass. Play Little Droid 1 and skip this frustrating mess.

Little Droid 2: Escape really caught me off guard in the best way. I jumped in expecting a simple little pixel platformer, and ended up spending way more time playing than I planned. The world is fun to explore and its actually challenging, died too many times :). It has that classic Metroidvania vibe where you’re constantly thinking. The pixel art is great and the music fits perfectly. If you like 2D exploration games, or you just want something chill and satisfying to play, this one’s definitely worth picking up. Really enjoyed it!

Little Droid 2: Escape is exactly the kind of game that you want to play with headphones, in complete silence, to feel every detail. From the very first minutes, you are immersed in the atmosphere of an abandoned world: gloomy ruins, the buzzing of old machinery, a feeling of complete loneliness.… At the same time, the gameplay keeps you in suspense — traps are triggered quickly, enemies do not forgive mistakes, and the constant need to recharge forces you to carefully plan each step. Improving weapons adds a sense of progress, but doesn't make the game too easy — the balance is perfect. I was thrilled with how organically research and survival are embedded: you really want to look for secrets, and not just "discover by checklist." The pixel-style graphics look stylish and atmospheric, and the music perfectly emphasizes the feeling of mystery and danger. After a couple of hours of playing, I was really worried about my little droid, especially when it was barely crawling to the next charging point. This is not just a platformer, but a real metroidvania with a soul, where every victory over the boss feels like a personal triumph. Despite the difficulty, the game never feels unfair —…
