About Little Lighthouse of Horror
A Journey into Madness and Survival
Little Lighthouse of Horror is an atmospheric psychological horror game inspired by the eerie 1900 legend of the Flannan Isles. As the lighthouse keeper, you must maintain the light while confronting growing unease and unexplained phenomena. With isolation creeping in, your sanity will be pushed to the limit.Surviving the Lighthouse
Survival depends on balancing Lawrence’s mental and physical health as he contends with the haunting isolation of the island. The lighthouse becomes both his lifeline and his prison as he navigates the fine line between duty and madness.Key Features
- Resource Management: Monitor and ration food, oil, and supplies to keep the lighthouse operational.
- Sanity System: Isolation and strange occurrences gradually erode Lawrence’s sanity. Manage his mental state to prevent complete madness.
- Multiple Endings: Your choices shape Lawrence’s fate, leading to various outcomes based on your decisions.
- Immersive Setting: A 1920s pixel art atmosphere, with haunting visuals and audio, adds to the tension as the island becomes both your sanctuary and nightmare.
How to Survive
Surviving the growing horror on the island requires careful management of resources and of Lawrence’s sanity.- Keep the Light Burning: The lighthouse is your duty, and failure to maintain it risks shipwrecks and further deterioration of its lightkeeper’s mental state.
- Manage Resources: Food, oil, and wood are limited. Use the flag system to request supplies, but mismanaging them will leave you vulnerable.
- Guard Your Sanity: Lawrence’s mind is fragile. Visions, whispers, and strange events will blur reality; keep him grounded or spiral into madness.
- Endure the Weather: Storms and fog will make every task harder, affecting both your physical safety and the functioning of the lighthouse.
Core Mechanics
- Multilevel Exploration: Explore the different floors of the lighthouse, each with its own set of challenges and tasks to maintain.
- Weather Impact: Storms and fog will make tasks more dangerous. Adapt quickly, or risk losing vital resources or sanity.
- Visitor Interactions: Rare visitors will arrive, bringing supplies or unexpected challenges. How you handle them affects the story’s outcome.
Discover the Island’s Dark Secrets

The lighthouse holds more than just a beacon; it hides dark secrets that intertwine with Lawrence’s own memories. Bugs aside, what kills this game for me is the balancing of resource management. for all the things you need to keep maintained and the fact you can only get fuel and spare parts to fix things once a week, the fact that weather can switch on a dime and the lighthouse system doesn't make sense for how lighthouses actually work. it's just all...off. I just get focused on keeping everything working, I don't have room to be scared.1 found this helpful
Simple, fun, nice, well made. That's a nice once!1 found this helpful
Could be a good game, but I'll never know, as I couldn't get past the frustrating and seemingly impossible resource management. It's just too hard. It feels like you'll have no chance of finishing this game if you stop or hesitate for even a split second, or don't do everything in exactly the most efficient way possible, and no matter what you're doing, there's the constant stress of 4 bars quickly depleting (all of which result in game over, start again from scratch). It's not challenging, it's just unpleasant. My advice to dev: Add some kind of difficulty options. Even something as simple as having the resource bars drain more slowly on easier settings.
Once you figure out all stats have the same mechanical setup, it becomes a fun game. You don't have to keep everything at max. It's actually fine to neglect some things in favour of others. Then you can have the story take you places and enjoy some great art work and atmosphere. EDIT: Small addition after finishing. Keep in mind, unless you're going achievement hunting or want to see everything this game is rather short.
Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiSbSfPFvJg This is a great little psychological horror experience. Inexpensive, multiple endings based on how you play, and the management /survival aspect alone is a fun little loop.
Really fun and original resource management adventure with Lovecraftian mistery and horror elements.
