Logic Escape is a colorful and challenging puzzler. It starts out a bit rough with a Tutorial level that did not make a lot of sense to me. There is a stream of self-deprecating humor from the developer as he comments on the development process and the game itself. This is combined with an assortment of seemingly unrelated puzzles. Not knowing what to expect next, I soldiered on… When I reached the second level, the game suddenly improved! I found myself really enjoying the exercises in logic and I was all in. The game is divided into 4 sections, each with its own theme and style of puzzles. In addition to the Tutorial, there is an office, a dungeon, and a space station. All puzzles are logic-based and there are adequate clues provided. There are no mechanical puzzles and no weird ‘find and use’ inventory conundrums. In fact, there is no inventory at all. You simply pick up an object and place it in the environment. Placement targets are clearly marked but occasionally, the physics can be a tad tricky. Most puzzles require some type of translation between numbers, symbols, letters, morse code, binary values, colors, patterns, etc. Once you understand the core elements used fo…

Good game! Logic escape contains a large variety of puzzles where you have to figure out how to decode clues that are given to solve puzzles that are mostly of the form of combination locks i.e. enter the correct sequence of codes / symbols. The different forms of encodings is really quite varied, creative, and often nuanced in a way that rewards keen observation skills. Overall that yields a relatively difficult game, but one that is very satisfying. There is some some amount enforced order in which you can attack puzzles. This is done either by a mechanism where solving one puzzle yields a physical object needed to activate another puzzle (it's usually very obvious where to insert the "key" object), or solving a puzzle opens a door leading to the next puzzle. In general, you need to solve all the puzzles to get to the end of area. The game is structured as four distinct areas that are completely self-contained and don't relate to each other in any way other than the general gameplay formula I described: a tutorial area, an office, a dungeon, and a space station. The space station was by far the most challenging and the most fun for me. There is an in-game QR code that will t…
It has its cool moments, but the execution is way too amateurish
Review after 100% Difficulty: ★★★★☆ (mostly because it often utilizes moon logic) The content: short tutorial, 2 medium+ sized escape rooms, 1 big puzzle gauntlet. You should expect around 6-11 hrs of gameplay here. The game is generally very rough around the edges. The puzzle design was pretty hit and miss. It had some kind of fun ideas and puzzles here and there, but many of them were just uninteresting, boring, and sometimes resort to overusing mechanics (morse, binary, color, upside down/mirroring etc), and the harder ones often use moon logic. The dev tries too hard to be humorous, parodying the genre, but it just doesn't land and comes off as cringe. The physics are a bit janky, but thankfully nothing too serious. The audio design is terrible and felt like it was an afterthought at best. Quickly muted it and played some ambient music in the background. Animations and effects felt cheap and assets clip easily. The text formatting tags are visible when text is written on your screen. No colorblindness setting, while the game uses a LOT of color-based puzzles. If you quit…

A bucket of jank, really - and the developer admits to it over and over - but somehow still works pretty well.

Good, not great. Clearly some love put into it. Worth the price.
