If you decide to play this game, you should know that to select the "New Game" menu option you should press the E key as the game doesn't tell you that, and of course the common selection inputs such as spacebar and Enter and left click do nothing: if you ever come back, you should use the W/S keys (no, of course you can't use the arrows keys or your mouse) to move the cursor from "New Game" to "Continue" before pressing E, unless you enjoy erasing your one and only save file without confirmation. Once you actually get in the game, press Enter to pause the game and show the controls: no you can't rebind them, yes the game doesn't have mouse aim yet attacks are bound to mouse buttons, no the game won't hint at the controls or how to see them in any way. You can also use the Esc key to switch between fullscreen and windowed. As for the game proper: [list] [*]The screens are too small for how large character and bullet sprites are, fighting is annoying and if you can it's better to dash past enemies. [*]Normal enemies respawn every time you enter their screen, as if you needed more reasons to dash past them. [*]One health pip = one hit, but sometimes a projectile double/t…4 found this helpful
Dont do ths to yourself. There is effort here but the price is not justified in any way shapeor form. The gameplay is INCREDIBLY easy and unisteresting, more like an excuse not to call it a visual novel or some crap like that. The art is far inferior to many other things... so what is the selling point of this game, the tone and the story, which after going though a sludge of a game, just when you are about to go meet the final boss, you encounter a game breaking bug, you get stuck between 2 stages, the ONE enemy who could kill you to go back to the save point just goes away off screen and since there is no "load" mechanc, nor can you end yourself, you close the game.... and when you fire it up again "new game" is the only working option. The artstyle and sprites are impressive and add charm, but it masks the bugs within. I unfortunately encountered many frustrating game-breaking bugs playing this, some even to the point that ruined my entire save file and would have forced me to start anew. Near reaching the end of the game, there was a savepoint that when touched, flung me into a narrow gap between a bottomless pit and a platform, and now the character is stuck there eternally, after every reload. There is no way to escape, nor a way to load a previous different checkpoint. Given this title is now over three years old, I don't expect that to get fixed. The rabbit is cute, at least.1 found this helpful
Loplight is a dark fantasy twin-stick action game developed and published by Scumhead that blends fast-paced combat with a world steeped in mystical symbolism and philosophical themes. Rather than relying solely on arcade-style shooting, the game builds its identity around an atmospheric journey through a dying realm where ancient powers have corrupted the natural order. Players assume the role of Edda, a young girl determined to restore balance by gathering fragments of Quintessence while confronting terrifying creatures and an elder god that feeds upon the souls of humanity. This combination of intense action and lore-driven storytelling gives the experience a distinctive personality that stands apart from more conventional shooters. Combat is the heart of the experience, delivering responsive twin-stick mechanics that demand quick reflexes and constant awareness. Players must seamlessly alternate between ranged attacks, melee strikes, evasive movement, and careful positioning to survive increasingly dangerous encounters. Enemy groups rarely allow moments of rest, encouraging aggressive play while rewarding precision and smart decision-making. Although the controls are approacha…
A game with a simple narrative, yet one that uses symbolic language drawing from very serious and ancient themes. Everything has meaning; nothing is accidental. Despite being short, the game presents a deep philosophy and offers space for expressing emotions that are hard to explain. It feels like a gateway leading to questions, answers, and philosophical nightmares. The game certainly has a captivating narrative with interesting characters, even though it’s brief. Its aesthetic is creative, with solid concept art thanks to the effective use of colors and shapes in each character sprite, despite its simplicity. The characters have a clear visual meaning tied to their motivations. It’s a beautiful game, but what stands out visually is how each character and NPC represents something important to the story.
Very cool atmosphere and visuals. The gameplay has an interesting loop to it, albeit one that is a little too easy, so I wouldn't recommend Loplight on the basis of its challenge.
