逆光迷途 Lost in Darklight

Lost in Darklight is a very decent Chinese FMV game, I found it quite addictive and whenever I stopped playing I kept wondering what would happen next. My only problem with any Chinese game is remembering the characters' names, hopefully, this will change when I become more familiar with Chinese names. You play as a young soldier who returned home, happy to see his single father who did everything to raise him and make him who he is now, only to see him hit by a car right in front of his eyes. The soldier took his father to the hospital and tried to track the person who hit him along with his childhood friend. It turned out his father was an informant and there was a secret room in his house where he was working for a person called 'S' to try to investigate a very wealthy man in China. Before "Love is all Around" - there was a thrilling story that seemed to be hidden like it's title suggests. This is clearly a very underrated game: I've seen far worse FMV's with a much better rating. I was curious why this one was rated so low - and I didn't find out. Is the story boring? I didn't think so, although it's unique and plays like a TV series (which I guess it's based on maybe). Is the video quality bad? Hardly, although there's slight blurring at certain parts, but it's great quality overall. The acting, music, plot and even mechanics are top notch - no complaints there. And it has so many ways to fail - more than most FMV have - so you realize how important your choices are, while at the same time the impact is most of the time immediate, so you aren't confused on what choices to make. The only thing that really challenged me where the clue function, where you had to pick 3 options from 6 to decode a riddle, and it was hard because you didn't know which ones you chose that were wrong or not. In short: The game is OK, especially considering it's the first FMV of the developers. 6/10. My first playthrough took 4,5 hours. I think its slightly long for this type of "movie". Its not too bad, but its enough that replaying the game is not worth it. I also dont like the feature where you can see the map of every situation. "Wales Interactive" does it in a better way. I rather pay more for a better game. Good: * Achievements * Plot * Acting * Subtitles size and font * Mix of action and other elements Bad (Please fix): * Achievement timing - Achievements pop up before the related events occur in the game, leading to spoilers. For example, the "See person X get killed" achievement appears 10 seconds before the event actually happens. * Whats the point of the showing video player, but you cant rewind the video? And because there is a pause feature, make hitting SPACE pause/play the game. * Meaningless Quick time event pause "click here one time" before game continues. Small things that can be fixed: * Subtitles are sometimes a little bit weird, like random words are Capitalised Like This. (Its not a big problem, but should be fixed for future games).
