Lurk is a first-person survival horror adventure that combines dark fantasy with open-world exploration, delivering an experience centered on tension, mystery, and perseverance rather than constant action. Players assume the role of Mercer, the only surviving member of a mercenary company destroyed during a catastrophic demonic invasion. His quest through the cursed Farlands is driven by a desire to uncover the truth behind the massacre while navigating a world that has been consumed by darkness. The story unfolds gradually, encouraging players to investigate forgotten locations, uncover hidden lore, and piece together the history of a kingdom brought to ruin. Instead of relying on lengthy cutscenes, the game lets its environments and scattered discoveries shape the narrative, creating a rewarding sense of exploration. The game's expansive setting is one of its greatest strengths. The Farlands feature dense forests, abandoned settlements, towering mountains, ancient ruins, and twisted supernatural landscapes that constantly reinforce the bleak atmosphere. Every region feels dangerous, and exploration carries genuine risk because valuable resources and terrifying enemies can be fou…

I only bought this game for a background but I gave it a shot out of generosity. Generally speaking this is a not an average horror game from what I've witnessed as it builds a world upon itself. Setting itself in a medieval-like setting and overall builds up the story in a way where everything fits together like puzzle pieces for something a lot of small horror games generally struggle to do. Atmosphere feels perfect and the overall shift of certain areas helps with it blending overall surprisingly well. Although I wished artistically that it would lean more into the aspect of 'A world ending Eclipse that is looming over your head as you're going through through the pitch black abyss of the forest' they wanted to make the general monoliths of the center a more visually marveling point. Which I can entirely understand the limits of the unity engine. Monsters feel well designed/intended with purpose and fit where they are designed. Nothing feels out of place and everything has otherworldly sounds showing that what is hunting you isn't human. [strike] Except for one of them. [/strike]
I'M COMING. 🗣️
Although I'd recommend it for just the overall feel. There …
