The "developer" has looked at an existing, successful game and decided that copying it was an acceptable substitute for having an original idea. At this stage no legal action has been taken by Poncle against the "developer" here, but it's never off the table, as previous copyright law cases have shown. Beyond the copyright issue, the unwritten rule of cloning someone else's game is that you should at least try to improve on it. Mad World Survivors doesn't. It really is just a basic top down shooter template for Unity twisted into a Poncle ripoff, supplemented with AI slop. The Russian developer was so lazy he didn't even bother AI prompting animated characters, or working out how to do them. That's just how blatant of a cash grab this is. They say you get what you pay for and you sure do with this one. Yeesh.1 found this helpful
I don't know who decided that experience is something you pick up after doing the thing that should directly award experience, but they shouldn't be allowed to make or even play games anymore. This mechanic is awful and too many games thought it was cheeky or some ♥♥♥♥ and put it in their games. What compounds the stupidity of this mechanic is having a lifespan for said "experience items". So the herd of mobs prevents you from leveling cause all the experience despawns. Garbage. And if the experience items MUST stay, then DO NOT DESPAWN them. -FURTHER UPDATE: I'm switching to recommend because despite it's shortcomings it's still a decent way to burn some time.1 found this helpful
There are a lot of things to upgrade, maybe too many. It looks like you have to upgrade each character's stats individually, and you can also use the upgrade points to create buildings in levels, including gun towers, so you will need to do a lot of grinding. The graphics are rudimentary at best, many weapons are useless, and worst of all the game crashes often when you open chests, usually when you are more than 10 minutes into a level. I do not recommend the game at all, unplayable. I was told the chest crashing bug was fixed, but it happened on my very first play.
Just bad. Im sorry, the presentation is bad and it doesnt get better from there. A huge issue is you cannot kill enemies reliably with any starting weapons and leveling is slow meaning the first 5 minutes of the game is a slog and a half and by then enemies have leveled to the point you cant catch up.
Pretty low quality survivors game. Needs a lot of polish, items, etc. Game was released too early.
