About MaDevil
MaDevil is an Indie-Game, made by one developer over the course of 4 years.
It's a normal, peaceful day on the island, when suddenly the devil emerges from the ocean. He wreaks havoc and summons a horde of demons to kill all the humans. Even the ones that managed to survive the attack have gone insane and became... something else entirely.
You play the lone survivor of this apocalypse: A fisherman, stranded on the island. For some unknown reason the goddess of the sea protects you from the forces of evil. As your boat is broken, you must now find another way to leave the island.
Make your way through 9 unique levels, while fighting 30 different kinds of monsters, crafting, collecting and using over 200 items and solving all the mysteries of the island. Traverse detailed environments, such as a dark ravine, a harbor by night, a desert with fireball-throwing plants, a graveyard in an alternate dimension and much more!
MaDevil offers around 10 hours of playtime, or even more if you take your time to discover everything.
The game is played from a 3rd-person perspective. You can zoom in or out to get a close look at your character or an overview of your surroundings. Control your character by clicking where you want to go, using the WASD-keys or by using your Controller.
The combat revolves around using knifes, swords, your bow and several other handy gadgets to kill the demons that stand in your way. Try to find the most effective (or coolest) tactic!
You can spend skillpoints at shrines of the Goddess, where you unlock new and powerfull abilities. Your active skills (from which you can choose 3) drastically change the gameplay and offer new and unique playstyles.

I took the plunge here on launch day, and this game is EXACTLY why I do what I do on Youtube and buy and play these unheard of super indie games on Steam! "MaDevil" is an adventure action RPG developed over four years by a single indie developer and this game is oozes both passion and inspiration that you can feel while playing it! This game is a combination of a story and an adventure game as well as containing some soulslike aspects like the challenging fight system. There are many collectables as well as a huge amount of content. I like beautiful 3D-landscape as well as the engaging crafting system where you discover new items all the time. Definitely a game to put many hours into.4 found this helpful

This game starts off alright and then becomes tediously dull in my opinion. The main reason for me is the complete lack of direction. Nothing is explained. There is no map or mini-map and objectives are the highly ambiguous find a way type. This was fine until after the intro levels and I spent WAY too much time wondering around aimlessly. So I simply lost interest and moved on to other games. The price however is perfect because this is obviously a low-budget indie game. No question about that and this immediately becomes apparent as soon as you start the game. There are also some frame rate drops during the overview scenes and when auto-saving. The graphics also fade out in several areas for some reason. Overall, I ended up not really enjoying my time spent with this game and I cannot recommend it.1 found this helpful
Don't forget the magical light source in the underground or your might as well stop playing entirely. 8/10.
