About Maelslime
Where did all these slimes come from?! Something must be done about these icky sticky oozes! These ooey gooey sludges!Hmmm. That sounds like a job for you! It's quite simple all you have to do is the following.
- Take control of the slime drone.
- Squelch all of the mutinous marauder mucks.
- Pick perks and which enemies you'll see next in between rounds.
- Repeat the last two steps eight more times.
- Beat the boss.
- Celebrate your victory!

The whole package is a standard mix of twin shooting and roguelite mechanics. You control something that looks like a bucket or a magician’s hat, but it is actually a drone that fires bullets. The type of projectile is selected before starting a run, but as is often the case with these games, everything is locked at first, so you are stuck with cannonballs. The selection is fairly limited, with only five options, but unlocking them does not require much grinding. You only need to win a few games. Ironically, the cannonballs turn out to be the best choice, as the later weapons are neither particularly effective nor fun to use. The same applies to special powers, which are unlocked alongside weapons and also come in five variants. Special powers can be used freely, but each activation triggers a fairly long cooldown. Options include a tornado that pulls in and damages enemies, a volcano that explodes after a short time, and a few others. The final choice is the stage. Since you must beat the current stage to unlock the next one, there is little reason to replay stages you have already completed. Difficulty is set to neutral by default, but you can adjust it up or down by several l…1 found this helpful
good game
Well, I haven't played a ton of this yet but my early impressions are fairly decent. It's a wave-based twin-stick shooter and while I haven't seen too much that makes it stand out too much, it does have its own vibe that I kinda dig. It's very unpolished but you can still see the effort that someone put into it. I did have a little bit of trouble parsing what the upgrades between waves were going to do. The wording was very weird and didn't communicate the effects clearly. That's probably something that can be overcome from some more playing though. I did think it was pretty neat to then have to choose what enemies were going to appear in the next wave though! I'll get around to playing more of this eventually, while also updating this review as needed, but I just felt the dev should know I liked what I played so far, even if it isn't the most unique thing in the world. I've definitely paid more money for worse games in the same genre in the past. I don't know anything about WinstonK, the listed developer, but I hope they keep at it.
