Magicolors is a low poly/voxel/"Minecraft art" block placement/pathing game where you control a "wizard" and move around small, (barely) 3D rendered grid levels, and shoot across various crystals to "collect" their colours, which you can use to cast other "spells" that move blocks around and so on... it's a bit Sokoban-ish. It's rendered in 3D, but this just makes the game harder to play because there's no freelook etc... this seems to be designed more for mobile phones than PC or console. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features lazy low-polygon voxel "Minecraft"-like "art", making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. A lot of amateur developers see Minecraft's success and assume it's because it looks bad, not because it had unique and appealing game mechanics, and they try to emulate the success with…

The way it displays the board makes it completely unbearable.

Magicolors is a charming puzzle adventure developed and published by Virtual Arts Studio that blends traditional color-matching mechanics with exploration and magical progression. Instead of relying solely on the familiar formula of matching pieces on a static board, the game introduces players to a vibrant voxel-inspired world where puzzle-solving is directly connected to a wizard's growth and mastery of magical abilities. This creative combination helps the game distinguish itself from many other puzzle titles on the market. The core gameplay revolves around collecting magical energy from colorful crystals scattered throughout various stages. Players manipulate colors and solve increasingly complex puzzles to gather resources, which can then be used to unlock and improve spells. This progression system adds a rewarding sense of advancement that goes beyond simply clearing levels. Every new ability introduces fresh possibilities, encouraging experimentation and strategic thinking as players encounter more demanding challenges. One of the game's strongest features is its visual presentation. The colorful environments are bright, inviting, and easy to read, making it simple for pl…

Not personally for me, but I can see why people can like this game. I think, due to it being so much 3D (already feels kind of forced), you have to stand on the correct platform and also shoot directly, which could mean, that you stand on the correct platform but 1mm of your spell in that direction, can already mean that you fail and you just shoot until it finally hits, after the 10th time by just moving the mouse a little bit at the same platform. If you like 3D puzzles, then this could work for you.

I appreciate the precise angles you can incorporate into solutions (though I don't think this was on purpose, on a decent amount of maps I can perform better than 3 stars) but the vast majority of this game is contending with the clunky controls and the microscopic iteration between each level, a frustration amplified by a star-ranking system - a fatal blunder in any puzzle game for its brutal discouragement of real experimentation.
