About Markus Ritter - The Lost Family
Markus Ritter - The Lost Family is an homage to old point-and-click full motion video games from the 90s.
This Demo was developed as a fan project made by two people over the course of one and a half years. Our goal was to catch the lovely trashy art style from that time, overacting, graphics and dramatics that takes you back to you childhood.
The game takes place in Vienna, Austria. Markus is a young man without any ambitions in life just living from day to day.
However he is haunted by nightmares that don't make any sense. The only reoccuring thing is a young woman in a white dress. Who is she? And why does she seem so familiar...
Are they really just dreams?
In this short adventure, play the first chapter in Markus's quest to become the person he was always supposed to be.
Just some important hints: Always look to the book in your mobile (right mouse click). You will also get a sound when a new task is added. And if you can't find something, hold the space bar to see all interaction points.

Markus Ritter – The Lost Family is a charming, low‑budget FMV adventure with more heart than you’d expect. The acting is delightfully earnest, the mystery is fun to unravel, and the whole thing feels like a love letter to classic German TV thrillers. If you enjoy quirky FMV games, this one’s a pleasant surprise.
I liked this so I bought the full game. :)
For a free point and click FMV game I spent about a 90 minutes on it, which isn't bad. I'm glad that this got a sequel, as it ends on a cliffhanger with not much of and ending, that i'm sure is due to budget not allowing for it. Otherwise it's good for what it is and if you like FMV or point and click games it's worth your time. Excited to play the sequel
This is a really campy and fun game that feels like it belongs in the late 90's, early 2000's era FMV games. It reminded me of games like Yoomurjak's Ring, including the really "interesting" fantasy tones and dialogues that I admit will polarize people. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it's free so play and decide yourself. Looking forward to playing the sequel. Also, this is the right level of jank needed to invoke nostalgia. I am depressed now.
