It might not be much in 2023, but I admit I learned something. Seeing the historical Mars probes "in person" puts things into perspective, like how adorably small Opportunity really is. I want to pet it now, or at least restore it to working order, like in the game. If you're into the history of Mars exploration, this is a fun little distraction - but not much more. The interactivity is minimal and the voice acting feels robotic, even if it's supposed to be a robot talking to you. The value here is taking a closer look at Mars rovers. If that's your thing, then you'll like this. If not, then there's absolutely nothing here for you.4 found this helpful
Played on HTC Vive Pro/Vive Wands 1.0/RTX2060Super, very entertaining. Looks great, and is informative and fun. Now, I'm not a big fan of the movement itself, going black before moving to the spot you picked, but I guess it will keep motion sickness to a minimum, and let's not forget, this is a game from 2016, so it was certainly still a time when VR movement was still tinkered with. I got the game as part of a bundle over at indiegala back in 2017, so I couldn't have paid more than 4-5 euro's for the whole bundle. As I'm a cheapscape, 8 euro's for only half an hour worth of content is a bit steep for me, but I think on sale for a few bucks it's good, as it really is fun (but I'm very interested in spacetravel etc). Only negative I have, it kinda ends on a cliffhanger (for me) as it's said at the end there is a mysterious signal and you will be transported over to it, but then it just shows the end credits... Would have loved for this to have been turned into a bigger game, with this just as a prelude, and the actual game just starting with the mysterious signal.. So keeping my fingers crossed they would do an adventure..1 found this helpful
Mars Odyssey is an educational virtual reality experience developed and published by Steel Wool Studios that invites players to set foot on the surface of Mars through an immersive recreation inspired by real NASA missions. Instead of focusing on action or survival mechanics, the experience is designed as a guided journey that celebrates scientific discovery and the wonder of planetary exploration. Its primary goal is to educate while taking full advantage of VR technology, allowing players to appreciate the Red Planet from a perspective that traditional media cannot easily replicate. The strongest aspect of Mars Odyssey is its ability to create a convincing sense of presence. The barren landscape stretches into the distance with dusty plains, rocky formations, and expansive horizons that capture the lonely beauty of Mars. Walking across the terrain while standing beside full-scale replicas of famous Mars rovers and landers creates an impressive feeling of realism. The attention given to the size and design of these spacecraft helps players understand the incredible engineering involved in robotic exploration, making the experience feel both authentic and inspiring. Great game if you have some time. Although there is not much FNaF took over these games so it is short. Even if its short it is fun. Great game for Kids that like space.
Worth a look, some awesome views and info.
