Maskmaker is a very promising VR game built around some genuinely innovative ideas. The puzzles are solid, with a few standout moments. Especially the one that requires you to pose, which felt creative and immersive. I also really appreciated the freedom to craft your own mask, as it allows artistic expression and personal involvement. That said, I may be judging the game a bit too harshly here, but I did find some parts of it a bit repetitive, because much of the progression basically revolves around collecting new trinkets and mask components. I also wish the game had explored its promising ideas more deeply. Even so, I might be expecting too much. This game remains a very unique and distinctive VR experience, and its creativity alone makes it stand out in the genre.

While not as polished as "A Fisherman's Tale", you will enjoy this game increasingly the more you play. The puzzles are not particularly difficult, but do require thought; especially puzzles that require actions in multiple areas to solve. This game worked perfectly on my HP Reverb G2.

Good game. The plot is interesting to follow, a large amount of voice acting makes it deeper. The mask making is cool - carving, painting and adding different decorations made it very satisfying.

Another solid game from the developers of Fisherman's Tale. Visually it looks good, with the art clearly stylized for performance rather than for realism. I would have appreciated a bit more texture resolution in a few places at most, and maybe a bit higher detail in background scenery. Regardless, the environments are well done and diverse. Audio is well done. On the gameplay side, there's no janky behaviours, everything works as well as it can. I only found one non-breaking bug, which didn't repeat again (I was able to walk over an invisible platform to reach the other side of a cliff - not game breaking). The interactions are relatively simplistic but work flawlessly. The mask creation process is nifty, the wood carving and painting. Audio department is well done. I purchased at a discount of 3eur, but this is absolutely also worth it at full price. The game length (4-6h) seems appropriate for the variety of gameplay. Overall a clear recommendation.

Maskmaker is a joy to play through. The atmosphere is great and the puzzles and overall game mechanics very engaging. It's a bit on the short side, especially since the world building feels a bit rushed but honestly it doesn't bother me. If you have VR, it's one of the must-plays.
