About Melovar's Tale
Forge Your Deck. Face the Darkness. Write Your Tale.
Melovar's Tale is a deeply strategic roguelike deckbuilder inspired by the greats of the genre such as StS. Set in the dark fantasy world of Eodolas, you'll build powerful decks, discover legendary relics, and carve your path through a world consumed by shadow and flame.⚔️ 300+ Unique Cards
Every card features deliberate mechanical design. From setting up devastating strikes and elemental statuses to creating impenetrable barriers and defenses to survive each turn. Build synergies across attack, skill, and power archetypes. Cards can become greater and more powerful through various choices on your journey leading to interactions that can leave you triumphant or at death's door.💎 100+ Game-Changing Relics
Relics define your run. Each one bends the rules of the game. You will stack synergies, trigger chain reactions, and discover game breaking combos. From common trinkets to legendary boss drops across 5 rarity tiers, every relic reshapes your strategy, and sometimes come with a price.🗺️ Branching Roguelike Maps
No two runs are ever the same. Navigate procedurally generated maps with branching paths, discover secret events, face escalating encounters, and make meaningful choices at every crossroad. Risk versus reward, every decision matters.🛡️ Multiple Playable Heroes
Choose from 6 unique heroes, each with distinct decks and special abilities matching their style. Unlock new cards and synergies as you master each hero's playstyle. Cross-hero card synergies add even more depth to your builds.👹 Epic Boss Encounters
Face the unique bosses of Eodolas' Lore with unique mechanics and multi phase battles. Some follow patterns you can learn to exploit. Others unleash chaotic movesets that demand adaptation. Every boss drops legendary relics that can transform your run.📈 Deep Meta Progression
Your journey doesn't end with a single run. Earn XP across dual progression tracks. Universal and Hero Mastery, allowing you to unlock permanent upgrades, new cards, perk trees, and Ascension ranks that increase the challenge.📖 Rich Story Events

✦ AI summary
Players praise Melovar's Tale as an accessible and engaging roguelike deckbuilder with great card variety, particularly highlighting how it successfully introduces newcomers to the genre without overwhelming complexity. However, some players note the game has bugs that can interrupt gameplay, though the developer appears responsive to fixing issues, and comparisons to similar games like Vault of the Void may overstate the game's depth.
If you like Roguelike Deck builders then this game is for you. Great variety of cards, relics, potions and perks. For a solo dev this is a great game and there is a lot of value! Keep the updates coming!5 found this helpful
The card gameplay is incredibly fun. Essentially a better Vault of the Void.5 found this helpful

I’ve never really been into card/deckbuilding games because most of the ones I tried before felt confusing straight away. Picked up Melovar’s Tale on a whim and it’s honestly the first game in this genre that’s really clicked for me. This is also the first deckbuilder I’ve fully played, so I can’t really compare it to others, but as someone completely new to these games I’ve been having a great time with it. Definitely ended up in the “one more run” cycle a few times. There have been a few bugs during gameplay, but nothing that ruined the experience for me. I also appreciate the easy in-game “report bug” button, and hopefully the bugs get fixed in a timely manner because the game itself has been really enjoyable so far. If you’ve avoided deck builders because they seemed too complicated, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try.1 found this helpful
There is an indication that the game stopping bugs will be addressed. I do want to point out that the review comparing this favorably to vault of the void is what piqued my interest but in my opinion this game is not remotely comparable to vault of the void.
