it is turning into quite a good game. if only i could figure out how to get past the front gate lol1 found this helpful
Good game . Check your controller bindings in steamvr and you will see which button you press for running. Yes, you can get past the front gate: you just have to look for a way AROUND the gate. And you have to hide inside empty lockers so that you are not found by monsters. I don’t scare easily, but exactly two jump scares still got me. There is only forward motion, so you will have to turn around if you want to back up. And at the main menu I had to use steamvr controller binding to enable teleport just so that I could select the menu options (you’ll see). But once I was in the game, everything worked perfectly. It took me about 3 hrs to complete with four or five deaths. Played using vive wands.
i dont know i didnt really like it i went in a room it was really dark i couldnt even find the door to get out so this game isnt really my vibe sorry.
It put me into a room killed my only source of light (torch) and I couldn't get out. This was within in the first 30 minutes. Being stuck in a tiny dark room with no way out is not my idea of fun. Rule 1 of building a game; Make sure critical elements like opening doors, gates, and using utilities work 100% of the time. It's not rocket science.
Pros: as far as I got the game manages to create a creepy atmosphere Cons: The VR experience is absolutely terrible - There is no snap turning, so you are either ok with smooth turning (which is where people tend to get nauseous) or you have to physically turn, which on cv1 only is workable if you have at least a three sensor setup - your walking direction is tied to the hmd with no option to change it to controller direction, which means you are unable to look around a corner while walking past it or you can't look ahead on a curve when you are walking along a path - the graphics aren't great. They are serviceble though and I guess they used low res geometry for quest compatibility which I can understand and would be fine with if it was the only problem - interactions arent working reliably (the only way I could get through the front gate was by physically walking though it, wich depending on your gaming space might be not an option) - the game doesn't properly do height adjustments, which means for me the floor is a hand wide below my physical floor which means if I drop an Item I can't reach it again. I know there are external tools that could help with that, but you shouldn't …
