Игра "Metal Planet" оказалась приятным сюрпризом. С первого взгляда она подкупает своей ретро-стилистикой, отдающей дань старым консольным шутерам, но при этом вносит оригинальную механику с использованием элементов окружения в качестве оружия. Сюжет прост, но его достаточно, чтобы мотивировать игрока двигаться вперёд, уничтожать враждебных роботов и раскрывать тайны заброшенной шахтёрской колонии. Геймплей динамичный, адреналиновый, заставляющий постоянно двигаться и искать новые тактические решения. Особенно радует разнообразие оружия и возможность его апгрейда. Боссы в игре представляют собой настоящую проверку навыков, требующую не только хорошей реакции, но и умения адаптироваться к их атакам. Минусом можно назвать некоторую монотонность уровней в середине игры, но она компенсируется интересными секретами и коллекционными предметами.
