About Mindworks: The Great Division
A visual novel based on science and art, real life events and how humans tend to spread a false ideology of knowledge. Welcome to the Mindworks universe!
In a universe vastly different from our own, humankind is ruled by science and art. These disciplines lived in partial unity, enough for the universe to function, prosper and evolve. Until a new discipline emerges, challenging their ability to stay together under severe circumstances and harsh pasts. Each and every one of your choices will determine whether humankind will fall or rise again, since their fate is closely intertwined with the disciplines' unity or complete division. The key to eternal knowledge is in your hands. Choose wisely.
Multiple Outcomes: Three outcomes that are based on your choices which will decide whether the disciplines will end up being united, divided, or partially unitedDifferent types of choices: From major choices, to timed choices, to split choices, all will affect your plotline
Webcomic Meets Visual Novel: Sprites containing fully drawn scenes and animations that mimic that style of modern webcomics
Music room: A special page in-game containing official Mindworks soundtracks to be unlocked and enjoyed
Extra content: Unlock concept art, character info, and music in the music room
Before I played Mindworks: The Great Division, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
5 found this helpful
Mindworks: The Great Division is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This short, failed e-book is based on a flimsy high school understanding of scientific principles, is written much like you would expect from a high school anime club dropout fanfiction and is riddled with grammatical errors and just poor, sloppy writing. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the page…2 found this helpful
Has an overall terrible flow. Taking roots more from comics rather than a novel or traditional visual/sound novel origin. This is evident in the sentence structure and poor grammar in individual lines. The narrative flow is awful as well. This short "spurt" style of scenes and dialogue can work for the comic style but comes across as grade-school level for actual novel-delivered lines. Probably would have been better if it kept or better implemented its comic origin rather than just throwing comic-styled text into the visual novel format.2 found this helpful
I think the creators should just take the time to fully make the storyline rather than episode base like in webtoons. With 2 chapters, I was done in 20 mins. Theres no depth, no real story so far which with how long to wait for the updates; Will make others lose interest very quickly.
i do love this however needs the rest of chapters. by the time you get a feel its over waiting for more.
