The english localization is out. I'll caveat this by saying that the gameplay itself is great, but this translation is pretty rough. This is by no means a complete list of the issues: - oddly capitalized letters - typos - engrish-isms such as Paradin in the same breath as Paladin - "Chris Knife" instead of Kris Knife or simply Kris - "Witch'S Broom", "Magician'S Robe", "Deacon'S Guard" and pretty much any instance of 's in equipment is capitalized for some reason - there are references to their previous game QUESTER's perishable resource "Purification Fuel" instead of Food, ex "Purification Fuel+" instead of "Food+" - they refer to Paralysis and Paraplegic in a variety of places almost interchangeably - "Wild Boa", the enemy that is clearly a Wild Boar, should probably be named that instead of Wild Boa - A lot of these item names are essentially gibberish. "Incorporation of Asbestos" has a description about it being a tunic made of Stone Cotton, and could probably just be "Fibrous Tunic" or something of the sort. "Tantrum Balls" are, surprisingly, also described as "Clacker Bombs" and the like. They're clearly fireworks or bombs. Tantrum Balls? - The Samurai'S Flail is actually a …

They literally made Quester but the item descriptions are worth reading, this is the greatest game ever made.

I'm a big fan of Quester and I'm also enjoying this. More pleasing exploration with extra dungeon layers, more good music, cool graphics, satisfying tactical battles. More of the same with a slightly different feel but the "same" is really good. Translation's a little rough but if you know anything about Japanese or have played Quester it's not really that big a deal. Inconsistent place names like Jambiya=Janvier, leftover terminology from Quester, stuff like that. One disappointment I have is you're stuck with the party you start with, discovering all the new weirdos with their cool art was a lot of fun in Quester. You can change classes and that's one of the major differences, and it's well done, but no new art.

2D dungeon crawler RPG with a top-down view. Lots of depth to the world exploration and combat. If you've played Quester before, then this game is like a longer version of it, with a lot more things to do on the world map, and multiple layers of world to explore. You choose from pre-made party options. Then, you can later discover additional classes for your characters, which gain experience and level up separately from their main classes. Each character has predetermined possible extra classes, so no matter which party option you have, you will only have access to some possible class combinations. This adds a lot to the replay value compared to Quester, since you are guaranteed a different gameplay experience with each starting party, whereas in Quester it was possible to end up collecting all the same characters on New Game Plus. The story starts out minimal, but gradually takes a darker turn as you discover new lore and learn the backstories of your party members. The characters also have lore when learning their extra classes. The ending is depressing rather than satisfying, and doesn't really have a strong twist to it, but at least it sets up the sequel.
