Monster Tavern is a strategic deckbuilder where you run a dangerous monster bar, serving creatures fresh off a day of harassing heroes and wreaking havoc. When night falls weary monsters crowd into the tavern looking to drink, gripe, and unwind. Your task is to manage the chaos through smart card play, keeping patrons satisfied and the bar standing as each night grows more unruly.Each shift is a turned-based puzzle where Monsters constantly threaten to destroy the bar. I like a good deck builder, but how many games allow you to serve drinks to dungeon inhabitants who just want to unwind after ripping a hapless adventurer from limb to limb? Me that's who, and I'll do it again and again.2 found this helpful

Monster Tavern is a roguelike deckbuilder that mostly stands out from it's competition by using a bigger focus on board control than other games. While it may seem simple at first the combination of energy conserving between turns, limited board space and a steady inflow of monsters to serve means that there is a lot of decision making all the time and you rarely feel like you are on auto-play. The game is still in early early access so there are some balancing issues to be expected and some art is placeholder but the developer is constantly updating and communicating with the playerbase which is a good sign for things to come. So if you are looking for something a bit different but not too different I would give Monster Tavern a try1 found this helpful
I really enjoy the combat in this game. Definetely has a unique feel about when playing. I do reccomend for people to give it a go that enjoy deckbuilders.
Monster Tavern does something unique and takes a PvE (from the jump) approach for a genre that's mostly PvP. It's aesthetic and theme around alcohol and bar life is a fun one with many goofy, cute and cool creatures and monsters that seems so broad and fun that the ideas are endless. The game isn't easy which depending on your perspective could be a good and bad thing. For me I am in the middle, the game isn't a cinch. It definitely demands to be learned once you hit the end of week 1 or into week 2 your bound to be smacked by a boss or new enemy. In closing so much potential yet to be explored and what's here is very deep and can only get deeper.
Fun, original deck builder with charming art and sounds. Looking forward to the full release!
