About Monstrum 2 Beta

✦ AI summary

Lead a team of four prisoners through a procedurally-generated sea fortress while hunting or being hunted by genetically-modified monsters in this asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game. Each playthrough reshuffles the layout, puzzles, and obstacles to keep the tactical cat-and-mouse gameplay fresh between humans scavenging for escape and monsters exploiting unique abilities to dominate the shifting environment.

Monstrum 2 is an asymmetric multiplayer game for those looking to take survival horror to the next level. Pit yourself against a terrifying monster as a team of up to 4 human prisoners, locked in a tactical struggle to escape a decrepit sea fortress, or play as one of the many horrifying monstrosities hunting them down.

Use your wits and cunning to navigate a complex, procedurally generated metal labyrinth that changes layout, puzzles, items, and obstacles with each playthrough, keeping each match dynamic for humans and monsters alike.

PROCEDURAL SEA FORTRESS

  • Explore Sparrowlock, the Hong-Sha Miller research facility; a structure derived from an old repurposed sea fortress. Navigate an intricate mesh of rusting rooms and walkways as you adapt to the different environmental and gameplay challenges generated with every match.

PLAY AS A PRISONER

  • Work together with fellow teammates to scavenge items strewn across the decaying facility to overcome the obstacles that lie between you and your ticket to escape.
  • Stay stealthy and out of sight. Use various hiding spots to avoid getting seen whilst avoiding the traps that give away your position.
  • If you’re spotted, you’d better run! Stay agile and use various items you’ve gathered in your arsenal for a speedy escape. Your survival balances on a fine line.

PLAY AS THE MONSTER

  • Pick from a diverse range of genetically-modified monstrosities derived from failed deep-sea experiments, each with their own distinct traits for hunting down humans.
  • Smash, climb, trap, teleport. Master different monsters and use their unique abilities to tactically exploit the environment and catch your prey off-guard.
Monstrum 2 hits early access in Jan 2021.

If you have it library, just don't install. It won't even include files. Need to put "no", so it's lowered score, in case of someone sorting collections through rating, etc.

I had fun playing this with a friend but I wouldn't play it solo. It's the beta version so not playable anymore.

This game is a total BOREFEST!! The monster is gay and not scary. The mission you have to do is boring and dumb. Only a simple minded pube faced couch sack would actually have fun playing this BORING game. Play the 1st game not this piece of poopy. The devs are like "WOOOAAAAHHWAAA IT HAS MULTIPLAYER GUYS PLAY WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME MULTIPLAYER MULTIPLAYER U CAN BE SCARY MONSTER AND SCARE UR FRIENDS WOOOOOOAAAAHAAAAWAWAWAA!!!!!!!!"

I think overall this was very fun, especially when a "chase" is initiated! Overall I think this game will be great as long as dev continues to work on game.Areas I would like to see improvements or want more information on other than bug fixes during beta are: Animations: i want that fluid movement and monsters reacting to the environment, brute should struggle a bit when slamming into walls. the Bhagra should be tumbling off walls to give survivors a chance. Reactions to flash or smoke itself Gameplay: Since it's only one map, randomization needs to be excessive or else we'll get bored eventually. Since prisoners can't defend themselves, items like fire extinguisher should be more effective Better matchmaking, monsters were so hard to find but may be due to not a lot of people knew about the open beta in the first place. and of course i would love to see more maps down the line & monsters. Maybe even some perks, to go along with ranking up other than cosmetics Unfortunately i didnt get much game time because i found out about the beta late.
