Motherbored

Motherbored (formerly Chipped) is a cute and fun little platformer themed around exploring the inside of a computer. The goal is a bit nebulous and the pacing can be off but its fun for a few hours and the dev has remained actively working on it for years now. The gameplay consists mostly of single-life runs exploring the computer while trying to decode the esoteric mechanics behind the various pickups. There is a tutorial but I believe a lot of the main game's systems are kept intentionally vague for the player to figure out. I stream the game for my friend a lot and we end up naming enemies and locations and even some mechanics to make it easier to talk about the game and that process of developing a [i]Lingua Franca[/i], as it were, fascinates me. In conclusion: The game is not for everyone. It is simultaneously extremely simply and basic but also shrouded in mystery. I think the developer takes feedback well and I'm excited for what it will become.

I keep dying but its cool. I found the floppies, only advice it would be cool if we had more lives or a dedicated safe zone so I can reheal in peace! I found a few spots where its safe but I always forget where it was.
