About Moving Houses

Moving Houses is a silly little physics-based game about moving on... or is it? Be neat, be careful, or be a chaos goblin. The choice is yours. But be warned, not all is as it seems in this quiet little house.
"It's time to leave my house," is something everyone says at some time in their life. Now it's your time, whether you want to leave or not. Enjoy this silly physics-based first-person game about moving on as you pack up your house, pack up your life while immersed in casual comfy gameplay and the instant gratification of task-based gamification of house based packing chores.
Expect to play around 3 hours for the main game, with another 3 hours for completionists to finish all the extra content.

Under the cozy, silly atmosphere lies all the horror you encounter during moving. Trying to fit things into boxes, getting them out the door, picking up, putting down, oh no did I break that one? The gameplay is very satisfying, especially popping out a new box and catching it mid-air. Glad you can just chuck things and they don't break. I am glad I could pack up my totally normal things in this normal house and left never to come back. The House of Leaves comparisions are very apt, if you are even a slightest bit intrigued by that, play this game.1 found this helpful
Not your average moving sim. This story made my heart simultaneously ache and palpitate. HIGHLY recommend.1 found this helpful
The price isn't right for how tiny this game is, wait for a very steep sale before buying. The concepts are interesting but explored in a cliché way, and very very surface level.
This game is nothing special. But what makes me upset is that it really could have been. Instead its been watered down with lazy, overly expository writing with no palpable sense of tension and cheap jumpscares for streamers to pog-face at. And the gameplay isn't really satisfying. The packing felt tedious instead of relaxing, the scares were weak and predictable, the ending section with the breaker box felt like the most cliched thing you could possibly do as well as completely unneeded, and anything that was built up was entirely shattered in favor of pointless theory-bait. There are the bones of something amazing here. A cozy packing puzzle game with lingering feelings of regret and those feelings of the big change in front of you haunting your every move sounds amazing. And the mechanic where you invent new rooms to clean and new tasks to do because you're trying to delay the inevitable for just long enough to savor the safety of your home is a perfect idea for psychological horror. But this game is not that and refuses to do anything with this ideas is sells itself with. It plays every trick far too safely as if it didn't have the guts to do anything more than what has been do…
I really liked the game but I am so sad that it's such a small game! I NEED more! I really enjoyed the gameplay and the story that went with it.
This game really moved me.
