About MYRNEscapes

Explore 4 vast, scenic landscapes with audio-reactive elements inspired by the music of MYRNE's EP "Circles".

What Can I Do:

Set amongst red sands, this world is littered with runes and artefacts of a once-powerful society. Undiscovered constellations and celestial bodies move across the sky above you as you explore, illuminating new secrets to discover.

Circles:

A spelunking adventure within a vast, mystical cave. Unlock and interact with the mysteries of the Circles as you make your way through an ancient cave system.

Emotion:

Set in a verdant, lush plateau, explore the remnants of a lost tribe as they try to tell you their stories through flickering artefacts. Relax in a stoic experience atop the cliffs; but stay away from the edges.

Faithless:

A dense, forested jungle is littered with bioluminescent flora, surrounding a mystic river. Cliffs and otherworldly plants keep vantage points well-hidden. Daylight cycles are extremely short, so plan your explorations wisely.

✦ AI summary

Players are divided on whether MYRNEscapes qualifies as a game at all, with some dismissing it as a poorly executed art experience or interactive music video rather than a traditional game with meaningful mechanics and objectives. Those who appreciate it praise the free exploration, relaxing music, nice visuals, and experimental nature, though they note it's extremely short, has high system requirements, lacks goals or collectibles, and works better as a musical experience than a conventional game.

"MYRNEscapes" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "MYRNEscapes" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. This is just a barely interactive music video from some godawful failed music "artist" nobody ever heard of. Imagine if every band dumped their garbage songs onto Steam pretending that they were games. It would be a deluge of non-game crap nobody wanted. But that's what the "developer" of this music video is trying to do. And it's not okay. We're here for games, not whatever this crap is. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever your usual Starbucks barista/McDonalds frycook art school dropout finally gets a restraining order from the local art galleries so turns to Steam Direct to try get their art published somewhere so they can finally dream of moving out of their parents basement. It's true that games can be art... art is where the pinnacles of craftsmanship and quality meet vision and narrative to create an experience far greater than the sum of the parts. This isn't a game at all, and the craftsmanship and narrative…

MYRNEscapes Positives: + Nice graphics + Cool worlds to explore + Nice relaxing music + Free exploration + Jump and run function + Floaty and "flying" feeling + Its free Negatives: - Very high system requirements (I got everything from 15-45 fps) - No fly function - Nothing to collect or some sort of objectives - You cant explore everywhere - The blooming and lighting effects are turned up way to high in certain places - Very short (over in half an hour) If you like exploration, experimental games, myrnes music, or have ha hefty computer to test, then give this game a try. But remember that its not a game really, its more like a musical experience. Enjoy! Total Score: 6.5/10

Like someone turned a music clip into a UE4 scene, not really a game but still an interesting experience in my opinion.
