About NARIBIKIMURA
About the Game
Naribiki Village is a first-person, single-player exploration horror game. The focus is on exploring the uncharted village of Naribiki, where uncovering clues will reveal the truth about what happened there.
Story
In 2000, a post on a certain bulletin board mentioned that a tunnel-like structure appeared on a cliff that had collapsed due to a large typhoon. After seeing this post, the protagonist, who lived nearby, decided to head to the location. Beyond the tunnel, they found a village that was not on any map. The protagonist begins to investigate why this village, Naribiki Village, exists.
Game Setting
The game was created with reference to abandoned buildings and villages in Japan.
Ruins Exploration Mode for Those Who Are Not Fond of Horror
Just like in the previous game, we have included a Ruins Exploration Mode with no horror elements at all, making it playable even for those who dislike horror games. This time, players can freely change the time of day, allowing them to explore the abandoned village in various scenarios. In Ruins Exploration Mode, players can use the camera feature to take photos of the ruins.
2-3 Hours of Gameplay

A game has to do something to catch your attention early on. This game doesn't do that. You walk at a snails pace and the instant you try to run, this big back sandwich eating dude is out of breath. You can only run for 10 seconds. You have to walk around {slowly} and find these notepads and occasionally get an email. This could be exhilarating, if you usually do things like count the steps between cracks in the sidewalk or read the terms of service of your favorite software. But I'm bored out of my mind with this. Back to this BIG back guy. I should've known something was up when I saw him eating in the video. That ramen was shown no mercy.8 found this helpful
I genuinely enjoy Japanese Z-category horror games like this one, and this title brings exactly the kind of atmosphere I’m looking for. The ambiance of the Japanese village, especially with its retro-style elements, does a great job of creating that oppressive, mystical world that makes the game truly work. The story is interesting, even though there are a few oddities — nevertheless, it conveys Japanese mysticism well. It’s a particular joy that there are no exaggerated or forced jump scares, because I think those often ruin the mystery behind the horror. I’ve read through the reviews so far, and I feel I couldn’t add much new — I completely agree with the positive opinions. Naturally, there’s truth in the negative critiques too, for example, the behavior of the artificial intelligence really could have been more refined. Overall, I think the development team is heading in a good direction, and the progress compared to their previous games is clearly visible. I could imagine them one day creating a game inspired by Clock Tower or Nanashi no Game, perhaps in an old-school point-and-click style with pixel art graphics — that would be something truly special.
Really enjoyable little indie gem. The small but dense town has a great atmosphere to it. There are loads of great scares. The stealth sections are tense. The puzzles aren't too tough to work out. It doesn't have the visceral thrills and unpredictable twists of a Chilla's Art game, but it's well worth a look if you're into indie Japanese horror.
very well done, this is not alien isolation with a very smart monster, but is cool: 7,5/10
