Neptune Flux is a story-driven, open world adventure game set in a sci-fi ocean full of mystery and haunting beauty. The world above the water is a dust bowl and an escape into space is out of reach. Humanity's last hope of survival is the untouched ecosystem of the deep sea, and A.Q.U.A. is the worldwide market leader in underwater colonization. In Neptune Flux, you take on the role of Sarah, an A.Q.U.A. employee tasked with finding the source of strange energy surges that are disrupting A.Q.U.A. operations. As you carry out A.Q.U.A. missions and explore the sea floor, you’ll discover the dark secrets that lurk below.
In the deep sea there’s no natural sunlight, but every A.Q.U.A. dive pod comes equipped to see in the dark. Tools like flood lights and flares illuminate nearby areas, while more advanced gear like visual sonar can cut through the deep sea fog and highlight distant objects. This is basically a walking simulator where you're in an underwater submarine. You explore the areas around your base. Unfortunately, at the start your range is limited and if you don't get back to base with any charge left, then you'll have to go in for repairs and your money will be deducted. This causes you not be able to explore fully. It is also quite dark and you can't see very well and the different sites are not marked until you locate them. So the game does start out kind of rough until you figure out where everything is and get a few upgrades. The game features light puzzles that are easy to solve .... once you figure out the order of things. Unfortunately, the puzzles seem impossible until you figure out the correct order to do the quests. This results in some frustration. Wanted to like this game but is not designed well. You have to use the keyboard/mouse with VR which is "great fun" considering the VR unit means you can't see it and are likely to keep hitting the wrong keys. There's no instruction on what keys corrispond to what so you have to guess until you hit upon the right ones. I went looking for stuff for the mission they sent me on and seemed to end up in parts of the game that were unsolvable at that point in time because I hadn't been able to find what I was sent out to look for, but with no indication of what it was you were missing. It seems like its wander aimlessly around and hope for the best.1 found this helpful

A short, futuristic, bottom of the ocean, adventure game. Well worth the sale price.
Very short simple game. Recommend purchase when it is on sale. Travel around in a sub finding "stuff" that helps solve a mystery. Nothing too difficult. Some bits don't make a lot of sense - like the salvage exchange that you don't really need after the upgrades have been purchased. Overall its relaxing, simple, somewhat engaging. But it is very short. You can finish it in about an hour.
"I'm glad mom's not here to see this" More of a demo than an actual game. It could easily be completed in less than an hour. I got a 50 minute phone call during my play through, so I guess it took me 40 minutes. The game feels half finished - there's no options menu, no subtitles, terrible draw distance, lines of dialogue often cut off. The voice actors try their best but the script is dire and the 'story' is a laughably bad. Not surprised that this was the developer's first and last game.
