This is the most flawed 5/5 I can ever give but Neverwinter Nights is such a creative anomaly within the Western RPG/CRPG genre. I haven't even scratched the surface of how it's like as a multiplayer (MMO or co-op) experience, but just from playing the 3 official campaigns and one 1 module, I can say it's a wholly unique time. The most interesting aspect of Neverwinter Nights is not really the style, which is adequate but it won't amaze most. It's not the music, which is well produced with sweeting orchestral tracks but I cannot say I didn't want to put on my own music after the 100 hour mark. The voice acting, is actually pretty great in a hokey Bioware sort of way. The writing - also isn't much! Not for the three campaigns at least. Everyone and their mother knows that The Wailing Death (or just OC, Original Campaign, by the fandom) is a half-baked whatever. Fairly linear samey companion quests (find a thing!), straightforward go here and there hack and slash, short dungeon crawls. The only interesting aspect is a fallen paladin. There is charm in the simplicity, however, and it is a perfect way to figure out the awkward controls of Neverwinter Nights. The F1 hotkeys, the d…1 found this helpful

Awesome game. Played it as a kid and came back later to find there was even more to it than I remembered. It's a little old by now and naturally a little clunky compared to more modern games as a result, but if you like RPG's and DnD systems its worth a try to be sure.
Life either goes one of two ways. ♥♥♥♥ either SUCKS ass, or ♥♥♥♥♥ ass. In this game's case? It ♥♥♥♥♥ ass. 10/10 def recommended.
