Night Rolls Cozy Store

I really want to enjoy this game but the obvious use of AI is super off-putting. I'm not trying to hate on the game, don't get me wrong. I love the aesthetic of the store, the ambience and how low pressure the gameplay is, which is what pulled me in to begin with. The Roblox-like cartoon faces feel weird, it comes off as unsettling and immersion breaking to me. Also, my character literally goes bald with half of the hat cosmetics lol 😭 Unlocking new products via Gulp is pretty satisfying too. Although the repetitive reviews saying the exact same thing 2 reviews down does kinda ruin it for me, I enjoy reading stuff like that. Which is also links to my issue with the Threader app. The posts/comments don't really make sense to me sometimes? As if just randomly thrown in there or, like other people have mentioned, just generated by AI trying to mimic IRL Reddit threads. It just feels uncanny so I avoid it, which sucks ofc because like I said I usually enjoy reading random stuff like this in games. I assume this is a solo dev game? Which is understandable if they're new to making games and used AI to help build the foundations and using placeholders, but I can't justify recomme…

Like many others have said, the game lacks complexity where it matters. There's a very complicated banking app on the computer with stocks, crypto, and etfs. Yet making sushi and ringing up customers is way too simple. You can't expand the store, hire employees, or really do anything else with your money besides buy more inventory. Fun little game that would really benefit from more content.

Love this silly little game. One big problem with it is that I wanna eat some rolls irl when I play it so expect to get the sushi cravings.

Wasn't too hard to pick up, Game had useful reading guides built in, kudos to the dev for that. I do think it needs a couple of things to make it more interesting: Maybe a skill tree, more tasks to do each day would be nice. Overall, I'm currently unsure its worth the price point but that's because I'm not sure I'm the target audience here: I like my games to have more structure than this one currently has. It definitely does as described in the game summary, though I do think the Sushi crafting section could be a bit more fleshed out into a full on mini game rather than a "drag & drop, then swipe cursor to box" situation, at least for the more expensive sushi.
