Ninja Noboken is an action-focused adventure that takes heavy inspiration from the 80s, 8 bits Games.
Ninja Noboken environments are full of challenges. Evil has returned from the ashes in a different form and is again unleashing terror in this universe. If he is not stopped the world as we know it, will be taken, making it unbearable for humankind. Betrayal and history twists are things that you will encounter around this adventure.
As the player, you will have to journey your way into the roots of the castle and defeat this new foe to protect the world from full devastation. You will play as Ninja Noboken and climb your way through different stages which on their own will required some nice ninja reflexes to get moving along the way.
There are ninja skills around the way, you will get drops for these different spells. Additionally, you will be always running against time making this rush feeling always present during the entire adventure.
Classic cut scenes will reward you every time that you advance to the next stage. Become a Ninja and defeat the evil from this world.

Ninja Noboken tries to be a modern remake or a spiritual successor to the classic NES Ninja Gaiden, but it ends up being disappointing, especially for fans of the original game. I played it at launch, but I stopped because of many bugs, crashes, and technical problems. I waited for updates hoping the issues would be fixed. However, even after about three years, the game still has the same problems. The physics are very bad, making movement, jumps, and combat feel awkward. Bugs still happen randomly during gameplay, and the game can freeze or crash without reason. These problems have been reported by many other players since release. The game also feels unpolished, with questionable checkpoints and gameplay that is far from smooth. There was an update later on that added small fixes, some visual changes, and audio improvements, but it did not fix the main issues. The soundtrack is good and fits the ninja theme, which is one of the few positive points. On the other hand, lighting in some stages makes the game harder to play, because it is difficult to see enemies and obstacles. The controls for this game are worse than the NES version. Level 4 is basically impossible with the way the enemies are positioned because you are highly likely to get hit and fall down to the swamp. Gotta have that fixed
Could be better, adding the extra stuff like the delayed camera scrolling, the drag in resetting after slicing with your sword plus the inability to slice with a wider degree of coverage as you're landing so that you can dispatch enemies don't seem like it's there at all. I get it, it's a "parody" of sorts. Kudos for the effort though and worth trying just to compare the difference.
Arrow keys do not work for movement.
