[h1]When Kairosoft trying to make a war game.[/h1] This is the second town simulation game Kairosoft has made with a feudal Japanese theme. As expected, it includes familiar Kairosoft mechanics such as building combos and character customization, but this time, they also introduce two new mechanics: 1. Auto Combat. In this game, you can recruit soldiers such as spearmen, bowmen, gunners, and cavalry to fight for Japan. Your villagers can also develop skills and serve as lieutenants in your army, helping your soldiers in battle with buff and attack. You can command your army around the world map to unlock new content, expand your territory, and eventually conquer Japan as your ultimate goal. 2. Supply Logistics. This is something Kairosoft rarely focuses on. In this game, you can gather raw resources such as food, wood, and ore, then transport and process them into other goods that can be sold for profit. In the end, though, the game feels quite short compared to other games in the series, it feel like a proof of concept game. I managed to get 100% of the achievements in less than 15 hours. I liked it so I'm recommending it but it has caveats. There's two halves to this game, a town designing/management one where the goal is to be selling things to visitors, and a wargame aspect where you build up an army & your unique characters that you train, equip and that fight in the army also like generals. The town management part is where the game is bad. It's overly simplistic and awkward to direct compared to other Kairosoft games, and it's full of redundant buildings and products that you don't need to interact with whatsoever. Once you get access to it, mines and blacksmithing are all that matters. So town building = bad. On the other hand I really like the wargaming aspect of it. It's an autobattler with four troop types, each battle is 3 rounds with every type attacking in turn and being good at different things. I found it fun to train up my guys, pick which troops to focus on etc and it can be challenging at times even if everything can ultimately be beaten by grinding and buying troops, there's plenty of room for strategy & build expression. The theming is strange. Game's called Ninja Village but there's nothing ninja about this except the ranged-boosting armours…
