About Nyctophilia

NYCTOPHILIA

Nyctophilia is an 2D psychological thriller.

It's not about monsters. It's not about maniacs or magic. It's about bad things in your head.

You arrive to the house in the hope to forget something. Over time this place will become a scary place. House tells its own dark story. Here past and present blend into each other, and you already can not understand difference between reality and illusion. Only questions and no answers.

Nyctophilia - it is an experience concentrated on narrative that tells you story that might surprise you. Also this game has unusual gameplay based on exploring the house and solving simple but interesting puzzles.

FEATURES

  • Weird and crazy dark story
  • Puzzles about different realities
  • Watch your condition. Don't forget about food and hygiene
  • House tells its own story
  • Two endings. Each of them tells you one side of story

There's a game similar to this that came out on the PS Vita all those years ago (I think with a female protagonist). I'm never playing this game until I find the game and play it first :P

"Nyctophilia" is a very badly made Russian 2D side scrolling pixelcrap adventure game that deals with mental health issues in the most hamfisted ways possible, and yet somehow at the same time fails to provide any kind of compelling gaming experience whatsoever. What do you do in the game? Badly done side view point and click adventuring and garbage fan-fiction tier writing combined with hamfisted amateur psychology. Trying to address serious issues such as mental and emotional health through the medium of video games is misguided and can be harmful. While it's plausible to suggest the intention was noble, this can do more harm than good. The "developer" here is not a professional in areas of mental health and social problems, and when they use video games to pretend they are, this is not only utterly ineffective, it can be harmful. It's my opinion that it's improper to use video games to address mental health issues. Apart from the harm such hamfisted attempts at addressing social problems can cause, this offers zero benefit to PC gamers. People suffering from health issues or other social problems should seek out professional help rather than going to crap shovelware vide…

The beginning of the game felt repetitive walking back and forth and when the title came up like it did i thought that was the whole game. Thank god it wasnt! I thought my keyboard broke because of this game but it turns out if you shift tab or leave at least once it stops registering the keyboard inputs. i think this game could have had more work put into it but i don't like it just because of the fact i wasnt able to finish it all that much, 3/10
