Игра 'Oakrot - it's literally a book' – это не просто игра, а интерактивная новелла, с любовью перенесенная в цифровой формат.

7/10 An experimental "book simulator", with a dystopian/fantasy story. Good: - it's an interesting fictional distopian / dark fantasy world inhabited by unusual creatures. Most of them are unique, unlike anything you could imagine - the unique idea to make a game that basically works like a PDF document, or rather a simulated 3D book where you have text on the pages - free So-so: - some editing and shortening could improve the text. E.g. there are paragraphs where the are arguments between the main storyteller and his scientific-minded friend Lily which I'd just take out almost entirely. Also, next to really interesting pieces there are often "filler-like" words and sentences which reduce the tempo of the story and made me lose focus. I'd recommend the dev to check out Steven King's "How to write books" which I myself found very useful when working as a translator/journalist. Bad: - it's not really comfortable to read it. For me, the font was a bit too small, even in the close-up view ("2" and "3" keys). Also pressing 2 and 3 every time you go to the next page is annoying. Then, the pages are unevenly lit and have a shade of gray as bg - that's because the app attempts to show a…
