Once Upon A KATAMARI

First, I am so happy that this game was released. Some things about it are better than the previous games, and some are worse. There is a lot of variation in this game, there are many visual improvements, the menus are more helpful, there are many different environments to play in, and so on. However, the dialog that occurs during the gameplay is very disruptive, the loading is far more annoying, the last levels aren't very good, but the worse is that the hit detection is far worse. When rolling you'll inenvitably impact objects you should be able to pick up (such as trees), but instead they will completely block you. And even worse is that often you'll begin to climb them, rather than just stopping. Realistically, those types of issues could easily be fixed, so I'm not sure why they weren't cleaned up before release. That being said, the game is a solid release and I really hope they do make more of these.

Swing and a miss. It's not nearly as satisfying as the others in the series. They didn't get the progression right. You gotta re-play levels a bit too much, and the game seems to want the player to use the dash mechanic all the time, which gets tedious. After about five hours, I wasn't having fun.

I enjoy rolling up everything :) Can become a bit repetitive, but you can come back and enjoy it all the same.

its the best one yet

It's definitely more Katamari Damacy. I wouldn't say it does anything significantly better than any other entry, but the goals are a fair bit more varied than other games in the series and that does help the game continue moving until the credits roll. The powerups don't really do much to change anything, but they can be a little fun under a few circumstances. Ultimately the big problem is the crowns and princes, if you happen to like collecting things. They can be a little tedious depending on the level and layout. If you don't care too much about collecting things though, you can be done with the entire game in five hours, and that's probably the right amount of time to spend on this in the first place.

Classic gameplay with a new set of environments. I like the radar and magnet items that help you progress. With previous games it felt impossible to find some of the cousins and I resorted to cheating :-0
