About Once Upon A Tile

A young wanderer is lost in the forests, and accidentally unleashes something evil. A group of strangers need to become friends and find their own path to salvation to lift the curse that has befallen the land.

Once Upon A Tile has you explore ever-changing dungeons guarded by monsters, traps and magical challenges. Perhaps you need to navigate a trap-filled corridor to the end, or defeat a certain amount of monsters or collect enough treasures to make it through alive. The reasons will change, but the goal remains the same - build the dungeon as you explore it, and avoid traipsing over too many traps or monsters you can not defeat yet. This will require a little bit of luck and a whole lot of strategic planning.
While you play as a hero, you do not move directly. Instead, you follow the shortest paths to the newly discovered dungeon rooms you are exploring. This makes for a very unique and challenging game, where every steps and tile you place counts.Once Upon A Tile features:- endless replayability with procedurally generated dungeon-decks- unlockable and upgradable characters- an engaging, fully voiced storyline depending on which character you choose to play- complex mechanics that require you to think carefully, but easy to learn gameplay
A intriguing tile laying puzzle game featuring adventurous anthropomorphic animals and mysterious curses.
First of all, even though this game has been released, the achievements are yet to be implemented properly. So if that is a dealbreaker for you, be aware. Once Upon a Tile is a lightweight and simplistic dungeon building game where you, as one of the 4 varied heroes of critterdom, place tiles, advance, collect resources and defeat various opposition hindering you from exploring the realm. You begin each map with a deck of tiles, and each tile you place has a diverse set of forms and values connected to them such as armaments, mystical powers, monsters, traps and other familiar dungeon tropes. Your task is to survive the ordeals while avoiding to trap yourself in the ever labyrinthine forms and shapes of the corridors you leave behind. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3481818515 This game is a roguelike, of sorts. Your character is upgraded temporarily each run by adding increased chances of better loot, higher baseline stats as well as gathering gold that can be used in between runs to improve upon your characters by investing in gear and tal…

Nice and relaxing puzzle game with cute story and voiceover. At least the first parts are not very tricky, so ample opportunity to optimize. Music and graphics are also very nice. I didn't have any performance or bug issues, although my laptop is OLD. I guess these problems have been fixed in the recent patch.

Quite interesting and unique game! It could really be a boardgame exactly like it is. You have to find the exit in some where there are traps and enemies and there is always some goal on each level. It's a roguelike with high replay value. Unfortunatly i stumbled upon some bugs while playing, but hopefully they are fixed pretty soon. Watch me play at https://youtu.be/fLKY-heImp8

Doesn't feel like a finished game. Neat tile placing mechanics. Pretty Graphics Plenty of bugs (dead tiles, missing pieces of tiles, character not following the marked path) Not a ton of content either. Neat idea but need to be completed to be worth the price tag.
