About Oni Onsen
A NSFW Yaoi / Bara Visual Novel! WITH FULL VOICE ACTING!
Samurai Asano was betrayed by his daimyo master, the warlord Sakuna, who steals his ancestral onsen. Asano vows to get revenge by ruining the onsen! When Sakuna's daughter Mina takes over the onsen, she unwittingly awakens four oni who are trapped there. The grateful oni will protect Mina and thwart Asano--but then they learn the sexy samurai is the key to their freedom!
According to legend, the only way an oni can exit the onsen is by 'getting love' from a member of the original family. The oni take the word ‘love’ to mean the physical kind!

They're not about to let this distraught ronin devastate their home!
When they learn Asano is actually a member of the family-line owning the onsen, and that he's the only one who can break the curse for them, things get really interesting!
The curse scroll says the oni must 'get love' from a member of the Hayashi family to break the curse. That means sex, and Asano's the last of the Hayashi clan!
Asano's been through a lot...maybe a sexy diversion is just what he needs?

💬 Supportive Caveat This is a polished and genuinely engaging M/M visual novel, but I would strongly caveat it for players coming to Y Press Games expecting the studio’s usual fully M/M focus. Each route includes a parallel love story involving Mina and one of the oni, which means every love interest is framed as bisexual. For me, that felt unnecessary and out of step with what longtime players of this developer are likely to expect. It pulled against the M/M-focused escapism rather than adding anything I found compelling. Mina could easily have been a male character. What makes the Mina subplot especially frustrating is that it feels out of character for Y Press Games. Having played most of the studio’s catalog, I came in expecting a much more clearly M/M-focused experience, and the game’s marketing does little to suggest otherwise. Players should also know that there is BDSM content in some routes, heavier in Hanyo’s route and lighter in Nensu’s, and that the protagonist, Asano, is dealing with past sexual trauma that is brought up throughout the game. His past assault and coercive abusive relationship are not just referenced in passing. They are shown on screen and re…12 found this helpful
I bought this game as joke because I thought it would be funny if my friends got a notification on Steam that I was playing an adult game. I did choose a game I thought I would enjoy at least a little, but the plan was to play maybe once or twice or do one route at most. Instead, I ended up playing all routes and enjoying it immensely. This game represents a genre I'm not that familiar with, having played only a couple indie LGBT visual novels before and those being many years old, so there was so much that was fun and refreshing for me. The humor really vibed with me and was what made me stick with the game; it had some moments that legit made me laugh, and the voice acting, while seeming campy at first, added to the effect once I got used to it. I also appreciated that the Oni you don't choose may end up having a different relationship, which is a stark departure from the mostly-Japanese VNs I'm used to. It was really fun following these side relationships as they developed along with the main story. Another thing I loved about this game was how it handled the tough topic of abuse, despite being a comedy overall. It was handled with so much validation and healing, and not…7 found this helpful
Plot was campy and fun with well voiced characters and wonderful art.1 found this helpful
It is not an overstatement to say I was extremely impressed by this game's writing. The humor, romance, and heavy themes all blend well into routes that are well thought out and markedly different from each other. The characters were similarly distinct, even the side characters (love Mina!), which is an achievement considering the setup for the plot would be repetitive in the hands of another writer. Y. L. Abraham did a fantastic job, and I highly recommend this game if you appreciate plot as much as you do sex scenes.
this is the game I've been looking for and found it by accident the demo clinched it for me there are long stretches of black screens that I don't understand and they are mentioned in at least one of the reviews makes no sense bc other more important things are shown clearly... oh yes! started w/hanyo and was not disappointed not far in but will be exploring the other characters too but would like to see the black screens fixed though doubt it will ever happen also hoping for the polyamory route in the future! best of the titles I've explored so far strong 10/10 for me note: my current hours shown are very low but I also played the demo extensively (91 mins according to steam) to make sure this was the game for me... was completely surprised when my demo progress showed up in my saves perfect such a great title!!!
I enjoyed the game, i only finished one route, but it was good non the less.. The kermit voice was amusing to listen to. And i loved the voice overs during the scenes. The only thing i would've wished for is animation during the scenes but i understand since its a just a visual novel it probably isnt a possiblity.
