Only If is one of those games that feels like it has ideas buried somewhere inside it, but almost none of them ever come together into something enjoyable or coherent. It tries to be a surreal, narrative-driven experience with shifting reality, strange puzzles, and a mysterious voice guiding you through everything, but most of the time it just ends up feeling confusing, clunky, and honestly kind of boring. The biggest issue is that the gameplay never feels fun or engaging. Instead of interesting puzzles or meaningful interaction, you get a lot of trial-and-error sections, unclear objectives, and moments where it feels like the game is just guessing whether you understand what it wants from you. Rather than being mysterious in a clever way, it often feels random. The story also doesn’t do much to save it. There are attempts at edgy dialogue and surreal twists, but they don’t land well, and the characters come across as more annoying than intriguing. Even when the game tries to be deep or symbolic, it’s hard to care because the experience itself is so frustrating. Visually and mechanically, it also feels rough. id give this game a "mixed" or "mid" rating if i could quick pros/cons: pros: insane atmosphere (especially in the park) creative mechanics such as typing on the keyboard to speak fun movement for the little time you need it beyond walking vinny cons: anything and everything technical (especially audio related) some sections feel a bit dragged out (usually by lack of information) one route being much more packed than the other if youre big on jank or youre high or your name is Jasper Lucas or all of the above, give it a whirl given it's free. otherwise youd probably be better off playing something else unfortunately

I had to re-verify the game installs after every achievement to ensure the next one would pop. I also had to blast my gamma through the roof for one level to even see. I'm not happy about how tedious that all was.
