About OtterQuest
You’ve been given an odd request, and without protest, you get dressed and grab your sword from your weapons chest, and with much zest, you head west to complete your Otter Quest.
Dive through the depths of various dungeons, clearing them out of any baddies that plague their chambers, while also collecting shiny coins and fantastical weapons along the way.
OtterQuest is an old-school rogue-lite action RPG, reminiscent of some of the earlier Zelda titles and their respective dungeons. With each level of the dungeon cleared, you'll face up against more difficult obstacles, challenges, and enemies. Of course, with great risk comes great reward - collect SandDollars from your surroundings to spend on character upgrades and heals, find powerful weapons to increase your chances of survival, and unlock whimsical characters to play as on your next run through the dungeon.
OtterQuest differs from your usual gameplay of button spamming your attacks - your attacks are instead skill-dependant, based on the movements of your mouse. With precision-designed hitboxes, the business end of each weapon will do actual damage to your enemies - it's not just a fancy animation.
As time goes on, we plan on adding more dungeons, enemies, characters, weapons, and items - each either hand-designed by our team or hand-selected by the community's submissions, turning OtterQuest into a larger community-developed experience over time.

Not bad. Right now it's still way too early to give a fair criticism. Either way let me spew some thoughts. - The way you are meant to play to hit the enemies seems interesting, but I can foresee people's arms getting tired after about 30 minutes of gameplay. Either that or they just tickle their mouse a little and everything dies, which might also end up stale. If you're going to do things this way it needs to really make swinging my mouse around like a madman worth it, y'know? Ranged attacks like a kinetic energy cut when I swing it a certain way? Etc. - Enemies are obviously still being tested. But right now one of them leaves a bad taste in my mouth, the super fast red spider thing. It's just... boring to play against. He's faster than the rest so that makes him hard, but it also kills me instantly unless I spam roll and even then I still die because literally 5hp and he sticks like Phil Swift just flextaped him to me. - I would love for things to be graphically spiced up ASAP. Because if you're going for simple and skillful gameplay, then the visuals should look good y'know? It's meant to keep me interested. But now I can't really tell when I'm being hit by an enemy, I ca…3 found this helpful
This is a pretty fun game with an interesting mechanic where you move with WASD and swing the sword with your mouse. However, it's also another reminder that I can't stand roguelikes. Just like with all the others, I'd love to keep my progress and try a stage again without having to return to start every time I die -- or at least start over with all of the gold I collected. I wish I had known what this was before jumping in, but "Roguelike" wasn't listed as one of the tags. I'll give it a thumbs up because it's entertaining and may be up others' alley, but I probably won't come back to it for a bit unless some additional options/game modes are introduced.1 found this helpful
