OVERWHELMED is a dynamic Twin Stick Shooter that immerses players in a minimalistic and neon atmosphere.
Take control of a spaceship and face waves of enemies, from small drones to fearsome bosses, using your shooting and dashing skills to evade enemy fire.
As you progress, you'll earn rewards to upgrade your spaceship's features and purchase new characters to face the 6 terrible bosses standing in your way.
OVERWHELMED also introduces a special feature: the "Overheat".
A gauge fills up as you shoot, until it reaches 100%.
At that moment, you can no longer shoot, but you trigger your spaceship's special ability, allowing you to easily defeat waves of enemies for a limited time.
Use this ability wisely to overcome all obstacles!
OVERWHELMED features 6 playable characters, each with their own "Overheat" ability, music, and weapons.

Good ranks are gated too much behind having most of the upgrades. The only way to be competitive is to spam dash once you have the unlocks maxed out, and lives lost requirement for the ranks are bugged. I genuinely enjoy twin sticks a lot, and this game almost ruined the genre for me.7 found this helpful

Quick Score: 4/5 Notes: Fun twin stick game, though the entire progression system feels completely unnecessary and tacked on. The runs themselves aren't long enough to justify it and it ends up feeling like a prerequisite chore for no reason. The game is very well made all around, it just feels extremely lacking in content, the rounds are over in the blink of an eye and hardly pose any challenge at all if you are at all familiar with bullet hell games. The only actual challenge is going for S ranks, but even those aren't really all that difficult or interesting.4 found this helpful
