About OWLMAN
The following is a series of tapes recovered near the Overlook National Park where four people were recently reported missing- a family of three and one motorist.
OWLMAN is a retro-stylized, first-person horror game played through the lens of a motorist documenting their favorite getaway. As they proceed back down the mountain and the sun starts to set, it becomes clear something is wrong.
Explore an atmospheric open-world forest and evade the OWLMAN, among other threats.
Features
OWLMAN is not a you-die-you-lose sort of game. It is sometimes necessary that the characters in the narrative meet their intended fates.

I've been playing some found footage-like walking sims recently so I really wanted to like Owlman. As soon as we begin the game a text tells us that what we are about to see is found footage content and it is related to 4 missing people. Tapes are involved but are we going to find the tapes or we are experiencing the tapes themselves? We are then in a parking area where we either decide to walk or get into our car. I didn't know we could use the car since it is already in a parked position next to some public toilets. So first I walked to my destination (a house) but for the next time I used the car. It barely makes any noise and the dashboard looks static. Well, it is alright since this is an indie game. But the camera is not in line with the driving movement so you have to manage your viewpoint with your mouse while driving. Essentially, you are better off with walking since most of the road consist of U-turns. When walking you can just cross. You'll notice that jumping is possible and your character jumps way too high. In the house we go down the basement to see a dead couple and lying next to them is a VHS tape. As soon as we pick it up we see it inserted into a VCR a…23 found this helpful

This game had a few jump scares in it but it was kind of strange. You can watch my LP of it here. https://youtu.be/qGO54PImMAk
i didnt know what to do maybe im sped but it seemed pretty like boring
the real owlman was the friends we made along the way
As of 11-9-2024 the game overhaul came out a week ago. I just finished playing the overhaul and I gotta say, i'm impressed. The developer really improved the game and it was a lot better of an experience playing compared to owlman before the overhaul. This game still has room to improve,
a few of the jumpscares are done a little weirdly like how on some of the jumpscares, the owl/man or whatever the heck it was in the house just zooms past you and you can't get a good look at it.
But apparently the dev is working on the game still so I hope he will improve it. It is at least worth a play even though it is not perfect! P.S the text on the pause menu is also a little squished.
