About PAIN

PAIN is the cutest way to suffer. Take careful aim and make sure not to rush as you attempt to fling yourself up, one consequential leap at a time.
Encounter some real oddballs
Meet some strange characters and make some charming new friends on your way up and learn more about them each time you fall back down.

A varied journey
Travel through different environments with their own unique twists on gameplay and explore every nook of the mountain to try and locate its many secrets.
PAIN takes place on one large map, a fall could mean anything from dropping a couple of meters to a couple of miles.
What lies at the top? There's only one way to find out...
PAIN is inspired primarily by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Jump King

Cozy little foddian game. On the easier side, felt very fair. Sweet and simple. Unlocking new cosmetics was fun.1 found this helpful
paaaaaaaaaain but in a great way
very cute artstyle solid gimmicks that are easy to understand decent difficulty curve sometimes slightly unclear on what to do (usually without huge punishment for trying things) speedrun timer integrated very fun speedrun mechanic
It's hard to say whether I recommend people to play this game or not. At the price point it's honestly hard to beat, but ultimately I think I don't recommend it though unless you're desperately in the mood for a foddy-like game. I've got a decent bit of experience with games in this category, to the point of speed running them for fun since I enjoy them so much. My first time through Getting Over It took 2 hours on stream. My first time through Jump King took me 6 hours on stream. Pain took me 13 hours off stream where I could actually focus. Mechanically the game is very sound, you pull in one direction and your ball flies opposite of that and sticks to walls that aren't ice. It's very simple mechanically and and easy to understand, plus the art style is great. The only mechanical part that's hard to grasp is the roll, which seems to be so precise and finicky that it feels like it's not worth doing half the time unless it's to recover from a fall to the start. However there's something in Pain that's slightly rare for these styles of games, and that's the number of punishing falls that lead directly to more punishing falls in a row. The start and end sections of the game are …
really good game! the music, graphics, and dialogue are insanely charming and comfy, and the gameplay is very fair and enjoyable. i would recommend ! it's also pretty replayable
It's a difficult game, but not because of any bad mechanics or physics. Everything works well and the bugs that were there were quickly fixed. It's the type of game where when you mess up, you're frustrated at yourself more than the game. It has speedrun timers and cosmetics and that's pog af for this sort of game.
