About Painkiller: Recurring Evil
Battle never ceases in the realm known as Hell. This time around it's a battle for the freedom of your very soul. Will you be able to escape from the prison hidden in the darkest deepest chasm of Hell? Do you have enough courage to travel through the most dangerous and twisted areas, infamous for their unsafety, even among demons themselves? Are you prepared to significantly reduce the demonic population?
Once again you have the chance to experience the magnificent dark atmosphere of the good (or evil?) Painkiller, the only true oldschool First Person Shooter, tough as nails, without a trace of remorse, without a glimpse of motion blur or other technological makeup. Just Painkiller and nothing else matters!
“You’re dead! We killed you!” ~Emil Antonowsky, RoboCop
JoWooD, who previously consumed DreamCatcher with its Painkiller IP and kept milking the living Hell out of the poor thing, was finally dead. Which means that finally, finally we stopped getting crappy mods being sold to us as proper commercial products, right? Right? Well... About that. Remember that old RoboCop meme? The one about how “the dude died, but they still made him go to work”? Well… yeah. Nordic Games, who just acquired our guys, were like, “Let’s see what the f*ckers were doing before we got ‘em.” And… yeah. The evil’s back. And not in the way we wanted. I'm joking, of course. Not like I have access to Nordic's dirty laundry (oh, but it's dirty, the smell of this product is a dead giveaway), but with everything that was happening in mind, it's safe to guess that they wanted to keep the name alive while making some quick bucks for the next big thing they planned for the series called Hell & Damnation. Which was supposed to be, like, a glorified remake, but we're not here to talk about Hell & Damnation. We're here to talk …4 found this helpful
The bosses suck and its filled with bugs I would avoid this one.
Although the game mechanics are identical to the original Painkiller games, the game flow doesn't feel as smooth nor meaningful. Also, on the last boss battle, the game tells you to kill all enemies to kill the boss, which seems like a killing order thing, but while I was killing enemies, the game suddenly played the credits even with almost 200 of them to kill. Din't really understand what happened, and don't feel like playing Trauma difficulty to find out (if there is something new there anyway). Ok to play, but not that great.
bad game
Easily the best add-on or spinoff to come out since Overdose. Unlike some other ones, it actually runs properly. Had a decent time going through this short entry in the Painkiller franchise. (6/10)
