Pantazil is a compact 2D platforming adventure that gives a familiar genre a distinctive identity by setting its journey in Brazil’s Pantanal. Developed and published by KellenKyo, the game focuses on exploration, collecting, and straightforward platforming rather than combat-heavy action or complicated progression systems. Its greatest strength is the decision to build the adventure around a recognizable natural environment, allowing wildlife, landscapes, and regional influences to become important parts of the experience rather than merely serving as background decoration. The story follows Zizi, an energetic young explorer living in the Pantanal. His peaceful routine changes after receiving a letter from his close friend Dito, a photographer who needs help recovering photographs that have been scattered throughout the surrounding wilderness. Zizi therefore ventures across the region in search of these lost pictures. It is a simple premise, but it gives the collectible objects a meaningful purpose. "Pantazil" sounds a lot like prescription medication and you'd probably need a lot of it to find this enjoyable... it's a highly mediocre 2D narrative driven adventure platformer... and no, Steam really doesn't need any more 2D retro pixel platformers... there's thousands of them already, none of them any good. Like Pantazil. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game.
